Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2012
Fantastic chewy chocolate chip cookies. I've been making chocolate chip cookies for my family for almost 20 years and these are a hands down favorite. The only chocolate chip cookie that is still great the next day. The person who reviewed saying these were sickeningly sweet HAD to have measured wrong because these are spot on. I did refrigerate the dough for an hour. They came out thin but somehow crispy on the outside and yet chewy inside. You must try these! There is a very good reason there are 5000+ reviews for these cookies. Melt the butter, and follow the recipe. You can't go wrong!

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
Really the perfect peanut butter cookie! I did customize it like others suggested and added an extra 1/2 cup of PB and an extra 1/2 cup of flour. If you make small cookies they will NOT break apart after cooking so I highly suggest smaller sized ones. I tried medium/larger ones and they were crumbly. I bake a LOT and these were truly among the best cookies I have ever made. They were great out of oven and still perfect much later in the day. I sent them in a care package to my son in college. I think anyone who loves peanut butter cookies will LOVE these.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2008
I'm not a big fan of bananas, but these are awesome; the best banana muffins I've ever had! Sometimes I use this recipe and turn it into a loaf of bread. My kids love both ways!

Ricardo's Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
This is the perfect amount of dough for a large pizza pan making a thin crust in the middle and nice medium thick edges. I decreased the sugar to 1 TB and it was the best I have ever made and I have made lots! Baked it 6 minutes on the lowest rack possible before adding other ingredients. Kept it on low rack to help ensure crispy crust. This is a must try. For those having yeast problems: Bury your yeast in the middle of your flour without letting it touch the liquid. It will work.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
My family is staying away from refined sugars as much as realistically possible so I substituted brown rice syrup for the corn syrup and date sugar for the sugar. I noticed that it looked like it would not stay together well so I melted 3TB of butter and added that in too. They came out well and taste yummy.

Texas Brownies I

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2003
Really moist and delicious but nothing like a brownie. This is a basic chocolate cake but a really good one. I recommend this. I can't tell you how moist this was. A substitute for buttermilk is regular milk with a 1/2 teas. of white vinegar added. I used this instead of buttermilk.

Corn Fritters

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2003
I used to have corn fritters when I was a child and they were slightly sweet so I added a 1/4 cup of sugar to this recipe and they came out just as I remembered. They were awesome and everyone who tasted them loved them. I highly recommend them.

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2002
I made this for christmas and it got rave reviews! A digital instant read thermometer is a great asset when cooking fudge which helped me get it right to 234 degrees. Take it off the heat the moment it reaches that temp and your set. You will love this.

Calzone

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2002
My family loved these. I only used the dough recipe though and then I added a mixture of ricotta, mozzerella, an egg, chopped spinich, mushrooms, and tomato to fill it. I served it with a side of homemade pasta sauce. My husband LOVED it. I am going to make it again this week. It will definately be a regular in our house.

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2002
My husband said these were better than Reese's cups. My children had fun painting the cups. Great recipe to bring the family together in the kitchen. I was contemplating using creamy p.b. but decided at the last minute to follow the recipe as given and it was great. Don't need to change a thing. I feel like I learned a secret now that I know that there are graham cracker crumbs in them. Who would have guessed? A+ recipe.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: May 1, 2002
Delicious! I topped it with a glaze of powdered sugar mixed with a touch of O.J. I also substituted pumpkin pie spice for all the spices to help in the quickness of the making and it turned out great. You must try this one!

Amish Bread

Reviewed: May 1, 2002
This bread was what supermarket white breads strive to be. I was surprised at the softness of the crust. Usually I don't care for the crust of bread machine loaves but this one was awesome! My four year old daughter helped my make this so it is definately kid friendly and my eight year old son asked me to make this again instead of buying supermarket bread. I'd say that says it all.

Chicken Pepper Steak

I substituted leftover steak sliced thinly for the chicken and it turned out fabulous. I just made the gravy and added the steak at the very end to heat it up. My husband is chinese and he thought it was very authentic and delicious.
