Ratatouille

Yesterday I called my sister-in-law and asked what she had planned for dinner. I told her I planned to make Ratatouille and there would be way to much for us, so come over and get a portion for her dinner as my veggie contribution. Lots of chopping and the baking dish was over full but the results...... well it didn't last long. My sister-in-law picked up her portion and we almost polished off the rest. I made it exactly as written without changes and served with chicken. It was delicious and I got a call asking when I would be making it again. lol I told her SOON. She had never heard of the dish so I told her the Disney story and she is now looking for the movie. Too funny.

Angel Chicken Pasta

I made this for dinner following the recipe exactly. I doubt anyone could improve on it. It was fantastic. Hubby couldn't stop raving. It was enough for six so I was able to freeze two meals for us. This is definitely my choice for our next dinner guests. Thanks for the post.

Monkey Bread

Monkey Bread is not something we are familiar with here in Canada BUT that is going to change. WOW. Talk about addictive. Delicious, scrumptious and definitely in demand since I made the first one. I will evenually try a couple of different varieties but I have a feeling this is the one we will invite to stay. Thank you Carol.

Butternut Squash Soup

Absolutely wonderful flavor. I only used 1/2 the cream cheese and it was excellent. I took the suggestion of microwaving the squash and don't think I will do that again. Too hot to handle and messy. Maybe if I did it ahead and allowed it to cool before scooping out? Anyway a definite soup favorite in this house. Thank Mary.

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

I have known these for years as "Hello Dollies". They are quick to throw together and loved by all. I never have to check the recipe because mine calls for 1/2 c butter and 1 cup each of everything else. The order of layers I use are crumb base, coconut, chocolate chips (or your own choice of flavor) nuts, and all topped with the can of Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk. They turn out perfect every time. They are very sweet but - MMmmmm Good.

Peanut Butter Crispies II

No mess. No fuss. Easy. Quick. Virtually no clean-up. I used All Bran Flakes and it was great. Really chewy and what a wonderful peanut butter flavor. Loved by all who tried them. Gave out a few recipes on request and can't wait to try them again only this time with Rice Crispies.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

My husband loves meatloaf and I don't, so I have been looking for a recipe that he would enjoy and I could eat without hating it. He's away right now and I decided to try this one. The only difference is that I added a generous amount of Weber's Chicago Steak Spice, which I do with any meat. I love the way it brings out the flavor. I envited my son and his Fiancee over to share (he doesn't like meatloaf either) and the meatloaf was moist and was a smashing success with all of us. Love the sauce. It was excellent and has definitely got a permanent spot in my recipe box... Thank you.

Slow Cooker Chicken Tetrazzini

I followed this recipe exactly as written and it was wonderful. Very rich and the flavour was amazing. My Hubby and I enjoyed it over Basmati rice for two meals and tonight I called my son to see if they had already started dinner. They eat at completely different hours than we do (we're retired & early eaters). Anyway he came over and picked up a dish of the Chicken Tetrazzini. He just called to let me know that they loved it. They also had it over Basmati rice and want it again to try with noodles and he want to know when that will be. Aren't kid terrific.

Peach Curry Glazed Pork Chops

I had already taken out center cut loin chops for dinner before I opened my mail this morning and what a wonderful dinner we enjoyed this evening. Followed the recipe but I didn't have any peach jam. Not one ingredient overpowered the other. Just a perfect blend of amazing flavor. Will double the sauce and try it with rice next time. Just loved this one. Thank you for submitting.

Joy's Prizewinning Trifle

I tried this with my 14 yr old granddaughter. It was definitely a winner. The presentation was amazing and it tasted every bit as good as it looked. I prepared a little too much fruit but threw it all in anyway. It would make an awesome impression in a "I'll bring the desert" situation. It's a keeper.

Delicious Apple Sauce

I used this recipe for my pears. I have a pear tree and a multitude of pears even after supplying family & friends. I used a ratio of 2 pears to 1 apple. The pear sauce is delicious. Then I made batches adding the apples. Voila - Apple Pear Sauce. I also pureed the cooked fruit, let it cool, packaged it and froze it. It tastes just as good now as when I made it last year. Pears are ripe, here I go again.

Homemade Refrigerator Pickles

What an easy, absolutely delicious recipe. I love that I can make up a couple of jars in half an hour whenever we want them. Of course we have to have a taste that evening before they are ready. But then, the next day.... Oh so good. Anyone who has tried them has raved. (I usually don't change a recipe but I did add the mustard & celery seeds.) I have a hubby who loves pickled beets so I tried the same recipe also adding onions with the exception that I added a teaspoon of ground cloves (no mustard & celery seeds) and O M G they were wonderful again with raving reviews from family and especially hubby. No more store bought pickles or beets for us. Thank you so much for this wonderful addition to my refrigerator.

Brandied Shrimp with Pasta

I had some shrimp I wanted to use so I made sure I had everything called for to make this dish. The kitchen smelled wonderful while I was cooking and the meal was absolutely 1st class. I have been watching what I eat (trying to keep trim) but I blew it big time with this. My hubby and I ate the whole thing. (I know...) I didn't change a thing and will be not changing a thing in the future when we enjoy it again. Thanks Steve.

Easy Peach Cobbler II

Topped with whipped cream it was easy, tasty and enjoyed by all. I did take advice from most of the reviews and only used 1 cup sugar. Next time I will add a little vanilla and cinnamon. My granddaughter went home with the recipe in hand ready to delight her friends.

Talk about adaptable, WOW. I decided to prepare this as an early dinner on Sunday for myself. Just as I had the marinate together a friend called. She had just broken her foot and needed to get to the hospital. I grabbed the slow cooker, threw everything in, set it on low and ran out the door. Hours later I ushered her in to a kitchen with an aroma to die for. I added some flour (I put some cold water in my shaker, add a couple of tbsp of flour, shake well and it pours like milk - never any lumps) to make a creamy thick sauce and served it over rice with a side of corn. It was delicious and definitely on my do again list. Thanks for a tasty ADAPTABLE dinner.

Chicken Paprikash

Absolutely delicious flavor. After reading reviews I went and bought some Hungarian paprika and followed recipe as written with the exception of increasing the amout of sauce. Found dumplings a little on the heavy side but overall an excellent meal. Will make again for sure.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Short Ribs

Made this for dinner guests & family and you know what guests are like. I'm never sure if they are being honest or polite when they say something is good. - I found it very mild in flavor. The ribs were fall of the bone tender but something was missing. Will try again.

Chicken Pot Pie III

Another winner. This was an easy, no mess, no fuss excellent meal. We had one for dinner and I froze a second pie. I always follow recipes as presented for the first time. I used a frozen pie crust and the only thing I will change next time will be to thicken the sauce. It was a bit runny. The flavor was very good.

Scrambled Potatoes

I have been making this for years. I cook and set aside the bacon and clean out the bacon fat. I then saute onions with the potatoes which I cube (small). When they are nicely cooked I put the bacon back in the pan and break however many eggs over everything and gently toss to mix in. I don't always use cheese but will sometimes put a bowl of shredded cheese on the table as a choice. This is so easy to adjust to how ever many you are serving and there will always be requests for seconds. We call it breakfast mush and it's usually in demand when the kids come home for a visit.
