Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2013
I was really looking forward to making this. The first few bites were slightly better than ok, but then it became too overwhelming and I couldn't finish it. The thought of eating that much warm mayo made my stomach turn. My family didn't enjoy it at all, so we won't be making this again.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2013
Delish!! The only changes I made were to add a little splash of milk, and I didn't sautee the cornflakes. It was wonderful and I will make again and again. In the future, I will half the recipe to use as a side dish for our family of 4, it does make quite a bit.

Caramelized Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
The sauce is fantastic!! I halved the recipe and used tenderloins instead of wings. If using tenderloins, no need to cook as long. My chicken was a bit dry and difficult for my 1 & 4 year old to chew, but that was my fault. Definitely a 5 star for taste!!

Bacon Cheese Frittata

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2012
This is a wonderful dish!! I've made this several times, exactly as written, and also with a few minor changes. I always use lots of cheese and haven't had a bad outcome yet!

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
I made exactly as written and used A1 for the steak sauce. I was expecting a wonderful meatloaf but thought it was just ok. I only use ketchup on meatloaf that's not that good, and I had to use it this time :( The "Glazed Meatloaf II" from this site is wonderful!!

Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
Verrry good! I only gave 4 stars because, like other reviewers, I didn't use the garlic salt. Instead, I used 1 tsp garlic powder and 1/4 tsp salt. This was perfect and can be used in many ways!

Fluffy Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
Tastes great. But, I have to wonder if I'm the only one that did not get fluffy frosting after mixing for a few minutes. Within a few seconds of mixing, the frosting was very fluffy and smooth but I kept mixing since the directions said to mix for at least 3 minutes. Doing this, I ended up with thick, dense, crumbles...even after adding more milk. So, I made a second batch and stopped mixing once all the ingredients were well blended and it came out perfect.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
SOOO GOOD!! My crust didn't turn out right so that is something I will have to work on, but I rated this a 5 because I followed another reviewers advice for the crust, which called for 2 C oreos, 1/4 C butter and 1T sugar...this made the crust an oreo flavored goo, which wasn't at all appealing so it's a good thing it stuck to the bottom of the pan and didn't end up on our plates! I was told that the cheesecake was "sensational" and that I will now be responsible for Thanksgiving and Christmas dessert! lol Like others, I also baked the cheesecake in a water bath then let it cool in the oven. There were no cracks or sinking. Can't wait to make this again!

Easy Decadent Truffles

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
I was pumped to make these but wasn't amazed. The taste is just ok (made exactly as written) and it's more work than I was expecting. I had a little chocolate leftover so I dipped a few truffles...it was such a mess and not very attractive. Kudos to those who made all the pretty truffles! Looks I'll be buying mine in the future.

Tuna Noodle Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Pretty good tuna casserole. I cooked the whole 16oz of noodles and added them to the sauce a little at a time to make sure it didn't turn out too dry. I ended up using about 1.5 cups less noodles than called for.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2008
I followed the recipe exactly and the pancakes turned out so bad that I couldn't stomach them even after smothering them with syrup. Not sure what went wrong here. **Correction** Ok, so I had to make these a second time after realizing my error with the first batch... I used baking SODA instead of baking POWDER!! *Blush* Pretty big error, that's obviously why they turned out so bad! The second batch was A LOT better! Pretty good and I'm upping my original rating from 1 to 3. I will be trying other recipes in hopes of finding something fantastic. Note- the only change I made to the second batch was to add a little vanilla extract.

Portobello Penne Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
I was really looking forward to this dish but it didn't turn out as good as I was hoping. The only change I made was to add 2 cloves of garlic instead of one. I don't think it was saucey enough so if I ever make it again, I will probably up the milk and see what happens.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
I was excited to try this after reading the reviews but it didn't turn out nearly as good as I thought it would. My meat came out dry and I even returned the shredded beef to the crock pot for another 2 hours. Not sure what happened here. I have to say, it did taste better the next day (I left the juices in and put in the fridge) but still not what I was hoping for.

Pesto Chicken Florentine

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
YUM YUM YUM!!! I didn't follow the recipe exactly but used it more as a guide. I cut the chicken in strips and seasoned prior to cooking. I used 1 jar of classic alfredo sauce, a whole bag of baby spinach, 3 tablespoons of pesto and stirred lots of parmesan/asiago/romano cheese mixture (found next to the Kraft grated parmesan at the grocery store) in the sauce. I think the extra cheese thickened the jarred alfredo a bit, otherwise it would have been too runny. It turned out sooooo good! I'm looking forward to making & eating this again!

Carnitas Filling

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2008
This recipe made for some good pulled pork (after adding a lot of extra seasoning) but nothing like any authentic carnitas I have tried. It needs more flavor and heat...maybe some fresh green chiles would help it out.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2008
Pretty yummy! I planned on making this as other reviews suggested, with 1/4 C more peanut butter & flour, however, I just barely had enough peanut butter to fill the recipe as written and I think the consistency was just fine, no problems! I did add 1 t vanilla which I think was needed for taste and look forward to adding more peanut butter next time around.

Blueberry Muffins II

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2008
Pretty darn good! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using margarine instead of real butter, since I never use the real stuff. I suggest eye-balling the sugar on top, 1/4 C is too much and just makes a sugary mess while eating. I made 17 muffins using regular sized muffin tins and used paper cups to prevent sticking. These passed the toothpick test at about 24 min and didn't need the full 30 min cooking time. Next time I will try adding a little vanilla extract to the batter for some extra flavor.
