German Potato Pancakes

It's not quite what I expect in a potato pancake, but it was really delicious! 5 stars for great flavour. I added a bit more salt and pepper too for my taste. Don't worry about the potatoes discoloring (oxidizing) - Ignore that, because it doesn't matter and won't affect the flavour. That's what shredded potatoes do, and once you cook them, you wouldn't notice the discolouration anyways - more important is draining excess water from the potatoes before mixing in the batter. Thank you very much for the recipe though!

Southern Fried Chicken

This is what makes me such a fan of good old southern cooking! This recipe is excellent as is, and you can add to it as well - It's a very flexible recipe. Depending on who I am cooking for, I might add garlic salt, cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, and onion salt. No matter what you add though, the chicken comes out nice and crispy on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside. It took awhile for me to learn, but if you let the oil heat up to the specified tempurature, the coating won't fall off. Another alternative is to use a deep frier. The oil tempurature is most important. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Very excellent recipe! The bacon and cheese really added a nice flavour. I used dijon mustard (for a mild kick), and also added a bit of sour cream. I might try these with Philadelphia Cream Cheese next time. Thank you for the recipe, I'll be making these again!

Big Al's K.C. Bar-B-Q Sauce

The flavour was fantastic, although I thought it was a bit heavy on the ketchup to the point where it left an an after-taste. I will go lighter on the ketchup next time. The over-all flavour was so good though, I wouldn't think of giving you less than 5 stars. Thank you for sharing!

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

This is definately a keeper! I miss my Hardee's Mushroom Burgers, and as soon as I saw this recipe, I printed it out and went straight to the kitchen lol. Brilliant flavour, and it deserves a higher rating than 5 stars. Thank you for sharing Nicolette!

Man oh man these hit the spot! I really missed homemade bisuits. I am still trying to track down buttermilk here in the UK, so I substituted whole milk and lemon juice. Thank you for a great recipe!

Mall Pretzels

Brilliant - Absolutely brilliant! Thank you very much for sharing this recipe. This recipe took some practice on my part. I followed the tips of some users as well, and I think I have it down to a science. It is essential to let the dough rises properly. 2nd time making them I let the dough rise a couple times - It is a long process, but well worth it. Very authentic flavour!

Corn Dogs

Suzzanna, I won't even bother looking for any other recipe for corn dogs. This recipe is absolutely fantastic and authentic! I also learned a couple things while making this recipe. 1) the sugar is absolutely essential lol. I went a bit light on the sugar, and while it was good, I won't skimp on the sugar again. 2) Golden Bread Crumbs are a great substitute for the corn meal. The first couple of times I made this recipe, I didn't have corn meal on hand, so I used "Golden Bread Crumbs" instead. I used a less sugar while making this recipe with bread crumbs though. I wish I could give this recipe a higher rating than 5 stars - You really deserve a higher rating. Thank you for a great recipe!
