About this Cook
I'm 22, living with my beau in a nice old creaky house on the outskirts of the city. I recently quit my job and go to school full time... on my way to becoming a special needs TA. I love to learn, teach, be inspired and provoke thought. I've got a lotta' love to give, and yes, I am a gal that loves to bake. <3
My favorite things to cook
Bread, wholesome delicious meals, cheesecake, potato-anything, cookies, cheese-anything, carbohydrates... :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom's potato salad and deviled eggs. Home made peppermint patties. Sunday dinners with everyone. Hot dog runs with my papa, always stopping for a slushy. Moms scalloped potatoes (sliced potatoes, can of cream of mushroom soup and paprika).
My cooking triumphs
A Christmas dinner, truffles, Aunt's strawberry ribbon pie, home made peppermint patties... all ready for the day. Last thanksgiving, about 20 people in my little ole house with a big meal. I also prepped the turkey (22lbs) and cooked it all myself :D
My cooking tragedies
A strawberry pie where the strawberries became so watery I had to pour the liquid out so I could try to serve it. It's still brought up to this day. Ruining two of my pots on that pudding stuff you cook on the stove (from burning). I don't even eat it and yet I've lost two pots to it!

Chickpea and Tomato Soup
I subbed fresh dill for the rosemary. This was quite good. I also simmered for quite awhile to soften everything up :)

No Bake Bumpy Peanut Butter Nuggets
These are really good. I'm going to try adding dried fruits next time.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
I really loved this. Next time I will double the taco seasoning. I also added a can of green chilies to the recipe. Delicious!
