Wild Goose Breasts with Orange Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2008
My husband is always bringing home wild game and waiting in eager anticipation for me to come up with some magical way to prepare it! This is absolutely the best recipe I have found for goose breast! He was pleasantly surprised with this dish and said it was better than he thought it would be. The sauce complimented the meat perfectly and the only ingredient I lacked was the caraway...it was great without it. I don't know if this makes a difference or not but my husband insists on soaking the goose breast in milk for a couple days and then juice (apple, cranraspberry, etc.) for a day or two. He says it removes the gamey taste. Thanks for a great, easy recipe. We will definately use again!

Zucchini Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2008
I have made this three times in the last two weeks for family gatherings and each time, I have had to forward the recipe to savoring palates!!! Even those who were not particularly fond of zucchini were fooled!! This is a great way to use up those garden "torpedos" and much less expensive than apples! As per reviews, I substituted 1 cup oats for flour and used half brown/half white sugar. Yum Yum!

Banana Pancakes with Berries

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2008
This recipe was wonderful! Quick and easy to make from scratch...I make pancakes every Sunday for my family and they loved these! I added one mashed banana to the ingredients and then made smiley faces with sliced banana and blueberries!! I don't know who had a bigger smile...my three year old or his pancake...Thanks!

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
This is the exact recipe my Mom always made for my birthday growing up...she called it "Poor Man's Chocolate Cake". It is my all time favorite with peanut butter frosting and when she has extra time, she makes a double layer cake with Kahlua Ganache filling!!! Heavenly!...and yes, it definitely tastes better if you make it a day ahead! I made it recently and five days later, my husband said it still tasted amazing!!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I had never made pulled pork before and I am not a big root beer fan but this recipe was unbelievable! I got a 6 lb. Boston Butt from the butcher and layered slices of onion on top with a little salt and pepper. I walked away thinking okay...that was too easy!??? Seven hours later drained it, shredded it and placed back in the crock with Sweet Baby Rays for an hour until company arrived. This is the perfect recipe for entertaining because you dont have to cook while guests are there!! Thanks for another great addition to my recipe box!

Zucchini Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
I made this bread and left out the currants. I substituted chocolate chips instead and actually thought it was rather dry and heavy. I found another zucchini bread recipe from this site that had 2 cups of zucchini and it turned out very moist so I might increase the amount next time. I really liked the coconut flavor but maybe it dried out the bread?

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2008
My husband returned from the garden yesterday with about 20 torpedo size zucchinis!! This recipe was a perfect solution for my zucchini overload. I doubled the recipe, made three loaves and then added a few tablespoons of cocoa to the remaining batter. I then made the most delicious chocolate zucchini cupcakes with chocolate chips on top! I tried a zucchini bread recipe from this website that had coconut and chocolate chips and my husband actually liked this better! This is going in my recipe box...thanks!

OH MY!!!! I was looking for a side dish to complement my pulled pork sandwiches, three bean salad and homemade coleslaw (all of which I got from this website!)and I came upon this. I cooked for two days and made this as a last minute thing...I served it with Lime Corn Chips and I don't think anybody even noticed the rest of my meal!!!
