Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
Wonderful soup recipe! I used Italian seasoned bread crumbs in the meatballs, and substituted approximately 25% lean ground beef for sausage in the meatballs (75% sausage, 25% ground beef). I baked the meatballs for 20 minutes in a preheated 350 degree oven. I followed the recipe exactly as written except for that small change and the soup turned out great. Rave reviews from all at the potluck luncheon I prepared the soup for!

Waikiki-Style Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2011
I've been making Waikiki Meatballs for years. The recipe was originally published in a Betty Crocker cookbook in the 1970's, and has always been a family favorite recipe. Make exactly as printed - it's perfect!

Captain's Crunch Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I agree with other reviewer-the cookies didn't rise, spread out in the pan, and were very greasy. I baked one pan of 12 cookies and tossed the baked cookies and the rest of the cookie dough, as I knew there was nothing I could add or do to improve them. Don't waste your time and ingredients on this one.

Elegant Oyster Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
This is identical to the recipe I have for Cream of Artichoke soup. If you omit the oysters and oyster juice, it becomes a phenominal artichoke soup. The recipe receives compliments like crazy every time I make it. Yummy!

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
Fantastic salad! The only change I made was baking chicken tenderloins (rather than breasts) in the oven, seasoned with sesame oil, a little Asian seasoning, and soy sauce. The seasoned chicken added extra flavor. My family loved this salad - I'll make it often! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Soup received raves from all at our weekly family dinner! Easy and quick to make using the recipe as written, but appears to be a great base soup for the addition of more vegies etc. Thanks for sharing!

Angel's Old Fashioned Beef Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2004
Terrific recipe! I read through some of the comments and found one indicating the potatoes she used "broke down" while cooking. This is due to the variety of potato used. Make sure you use Russet Burbank potatoes - specifically Burbanks. Other varieties of potatoes such as Russet Norkotahs, have lower solids (potatoes are mostly water) which causes the potato to break down and turn mushy. Great recipe! It's a keeper!!

Green Chili Stew

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2004
Fantastic stew! I make Charley's Slow Cooker Mexican Style Meat the day before(substitute dried chili flakes for bottle of hot sauce), shred and add to stew recipe rather than using stew meat. It's fantastic served with warmed flour tortillas. My hispanic boyfriend and I love this stew! Thanks for sharing Lynn! :o)
