Fennel Risotto

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Very tasty. I substituted half and half for heavy cream and used homemade chicken broth. I halved the recipe based on quantities I had on hand and ended up with more than enough to serve as a side dish to my family of four.

Baked Sweet Potatoes with Ginger and Honey

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
I used this as a base for my Christmas dinner sweet potatoes, but was limited by what I had on hand. So I used coconut oil instead of walnut oil, and garam masala in place of cardamom. Otherwise, I prepared the potatoes as directed (though, in a deep dish pie plate for lack of a cast iron skillet). The result was delicious and a hit with the whole family. Thank you!

Roasted Garlic Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
This turned a very cheap cut of meat into a tender, flavorful meal. I took the advice of a previous reviewer and added a couple cloves of fresh garlic to the roasted garlic in the food processor. The resulting flavor was perfect.

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
This soup is so tasty, simple, and versatile. I added cut up bits of leftover pot roast and some chopped up pepperoni, just to make it more appealing to my husband. Fantastic! Also, this soup freezes and reheats very well.

Elegant Oyster Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
This soup was very easy to make and relied on easy-to-find ingredients. (I used 2-8 oz. cans of oysters w/ juices in lieu of fresh.) The result is excellent!
