Baking and Pastries...but then again....whatever moves me at the moment!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
watching my dad just creating dishes, always experimenting with food on the weekends. Then came the neccesity of cooking for the family by wednesday as to not have to eat leftovers again, so i ended up doing the cooking till the weekend. Now...enjoy my 5yr old daughter help me bake various breads and desserts.
My cooking triumphs
At age 15, I created an entire 4 course dinner for my family and friends about 8ppl without a hitch and without any help (except for parents buying all the ingredients). That was best natural high I experienced!!! Only took me the next 8yrs to finally figure out what made me happy.
My cooking tragedies
With the heritage of being filipino, and being raised and cooking rice since I was 6. The first thing I ever burned professionally was RICE!!!!! sidenote*** even though I am filipino and a chef, I don't cook filipino food (yet)...thats what my mom(best beefsteak and sinigang) and aunt(best lumpia and BBQ skewers) do when they want the kids to come home and I never turn it down....LOL

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust
Great recipe and easy, even had my 5yr old daughter make it. Made a double batch for the superbowl party, half I made into individual pizzas for the kids - parbaked them the night before and let the kids make their own pizzas. Took the other half and made pizza breadsticks. I added fresh basil, thyme, oregano, and garlic to the the recipe just to give it more flavor. The kids thought it was the best pizza they've had...didn't have any breadsticks leftover either.
