Unbelievable Spinach Calzones

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Very good, very easy-my kind of cooking. ;o) Tried the pizza crust and it worked perfectly. The elasticity of the dough let it stretch easily without tearing. Thank you, Wheatfields, for the delicious filling. Thank you, reviewers, for the pizza crust suggestion.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
I'm 67 and have baked and tasted a lot of cookies along the way. I'm not easily impressed. Well, I'm impressed!! :-) Stephanie, how on earth could anybody come up with the concept of a cookie with no flour? Sounds almost profane! LOL They were delicious. My grown son tried one and stated "Now that's a for real peanut butter cookie!" They were soft, moist and the peanut butter taste was amazing, pure and undiluted.I had reduced the sugar by 1/2, 1/4 c white and 1/4 c light brown, used a heaping regular coffee spoon to measure amount and crisscrossed with a fork dipped in white sugar. They baked 10 minutes because of their size and cooled for 10 minutes before I took them off the sheet. I wound up with 14 good sized cookies. Great. Thanks again, Stephanie!

Shrimp Burritos

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2009
Just made this tonight. Wow, that Chipotle sauce is fantastic.I totally agree with the poster who said" make your own style of burrito if you want but make this sauce to go with it".I'm so averse to hot spices, I don't even pepper my eggs.;o) but this never got uncomfortly hot.Just deliciously smoky with a Jalapeno taste but not heat? It might've been because I used the adobo sauce instead of the actual Jalapeno but it came out great.Kudos on this sauce, Shackl. All the other components were good but the sauce was the boss!!!!

Spicy Southwestern Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
If you love spicy hot food, this is delicious but it's one of those love/hate dishes. If you don't like "fire" in your slaw, you'll hate it. Definitely not a potluck dish because a lot of people won't be able to eat it. I gave it 5 stars because my son raved about it. I think next time I'll use mild green chiles in place of the jalapeno and cumin for the cayenne to try to keep that delicious flavor but lose some of the heat.Excellent recipe as is if you tolerate super spicy foods well and I will make it again with those changes. Thanks for sharing.

Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
These were very good but be sure the salsa and sour cream are on the table with the quesadillas. They take it right over the top!!! ;o)

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2008
The most bizarre sounding recipe I'd ever heard and one of the best roasts I've ever had. Whatever thermodynamics were at work here were great. The outside was seared and crusty while the inside was medium rare, tender and juicy. The flavor combination was delicious. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Spinach Dip with Water Chestnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
Yes, excellent recipe but don't you think in all fairness the recipe should read "1 envelope Knorr vegetable soup mix"? After all, it's their original recipe and you're plugging your product with it. Give them ad time too. LOL

Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Absolutely the best potato salad I have ever tasted in my life! The only "tweaking" I did was salt the potato water, use real bacon and lots of it, drop the sugar completely and add 2 more T of sour cream. I mixed all of the bacon, cheese and green onion in with the potato mixture, reserving just enough for topping. Outstanding recipe. Thank you for sharing.
