About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I LOVE baking and cooking in the oven in the winter. So, anything involving the oven gets my attention. I also love making soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When the whole big clan gets together for Christmas, we gave up on a sitdown dinner and now each of us makes a few heavy appetizers. it's become quite competitive and we always try to outdo each other.
My cooking triumphs
Anything that makes my children say, wow, this is actually good!
My cooking tragedies
As a child I made peanut butter cookies "all by myself." When the first batch came out of the oven, they had all spread into each other and formed one very thin cookie pan shaped cookie. After adding more flour, chilling the dough, etc. I realized I had forgotten to add the peanut butter : / My family got a big laugh out of my peanut butterless peanut butter cookies.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
The best chicken I ever made! I forgot the marinating time and put it straight in the oven and it was still fall-off-the-bone, rotisserie style delicious. Thank you!

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII
Fantastic! I used two 8" or 9" rounds pans. For one of the cakes, I soaked the pineapple rings in rum as someone else suggested and the other I left plain. Both were delicious! Thanks!

Tater Tot Casserole
Just made this tonight and it was yummy. My pickest eater had three helpings! The only thing I change was to mix the tater tots in with the meat mixture before baking. Thanks!
