Many of the reviews stated that the taste of Tequila was overpowering. My family and I felt the taste of cilantro was very overpowering, to the point of not enjoying! I wonder if the other reviewers even added it to their dish! My teenaged kids ate something else. A waste of shrimp! Sorry will not try again.

Very good! I usually make shepard's pie with ground beef and beef broth mixed with tomato paste, but tonight I had ground turkey thawing. I saw this recipe, thought I would try it. Excellent with the chicken gravy and ground turkey! I left the cheese off (dairy -free). I have made it with a light sprinkling of parmesan cheese on top during the last few minutes.

I had a left over ham bone. I simmered broth with ham bone for over an hour before adding anything else. I sauted the veggies with garlic in a little olive oil. Added one cup of barley. Also added cabbage towards the end. Yummy!

I read many reviews first before trying. Nobody mentioned if the noddles got soggy. I decided not to add the noodles to the crockpot and just made the sauce. So I threw cooked ground beef with cut up pepperoni (cooked together), 2 jars of spaghetti sauce, 1 cup water, chopped onion, chopped garlic, fresh basil, oregano, and a bay leaf and let it cook on low for 8 hours. When I got hom from work I cooked up some noodles - takes 8 - 10 minutes. Dinner was ready with a nice sauce! Cheese was added at the table.

I brought this to work for an office pot luck. I doubled the recipe, added cucumber, and I doubled up on the dressing as one suggested. The combination of red wine vingegar, lime juice, cumin and cilatro made a nice southwestern tatse. We have many people watching their weight, so this dish was a hit! Thanks!

I followed recipe to a T, but doubled for 2 people. I would have to say that by adding soy sauce ( i used reduced sodium soy) made the color of the soup odd, and it was just too salty. Adding food coloring was pointless. The chicken broth adds enough salt to this. The consistency was good. I may try again, but omit the soy sauce all together and perhaps just a drop or two of sesame oil.

Oh my gosh! This was delish! Tasted alot like shrimp scampi. I followed directions exactly, except I used olive oil in place of butter (lactose intolerance). Also as somone suggested and I threw some mushroom in. I served as a main dish over rice. But can also be served over noodles/ pasta. Very good! will make again.

I hate it when people change the recipe then rate it! But that's what I'm doing...I used the same basis, but did not fry. I just threw all in 9 X 13 in dish with a can of french onion soup and long grain brown rice (all I had) and started for one hour at 350, but nothing happened! So I upped the temp to 400 and was done in another 45 minutes. I must say because of all the reviews, and what it takes to make the rice...I used one can soup and added two cups of water. Came out perfect and the french onion soup added a great flavor and the house had a wonderful smell!

I followed your reciped with minor changes. I used raisins in place of cranberry and soy milk (I'm lactose intolerant) and I did use steel cut oats. It smelled wonderful in the morning, but something was missing. My kids ate something else. I have never used steel cut oats before and I will probably not use this recipe again. Thanks anyway.

I had family in from out of town on a weekday. I saw this recipe and gave it a try. Crockpot meals while I was at work was an excellent idea. I purchased a 4 pound sirloin, because I was cooking for ten. I did the prep work the night before, cut up beef (I did chunks) and peppers and kept separately. In the morning, I threw together. I noticed the recipe only called for 1/4 cup of water - I added 2 cups and blended with a good tablespoon of beef base. I also followed other suggestion of adding peppers in the last hour. When I got home, my kids thought it was soup! I turned crockpot on high, added pepers. When broth simmered, I added the cornstarch and water. Turned into a nice thick gravy within minutes. Served with rice, salad and fresh bread from market. Excellent! I did not have any leftovers (darn!). I will definitely make again!

I would rate this higher if I could! We went to PF Chang's after friends talked about it and we had their lettuce wraps. I was hooked. I searched for a recipe for something similar. When I found this, I ran to store and made for dinner that night! The only change I made - I used ground turkey instead of ground beef and did not used pickled ginger, just fresh chopped ginger. My family loved it! I am making again tonight and I need to double the recipe! Thanks for sharing!

I was throwing dinner in the crock pot before work and discovered that I did not have any BBQ sauce. I jumped on this site and saw this recipe and thought I would try. The consistency was not like I had hoped. It was too watery. I just threw all ingredients in crockpot and left. Perhaps the difference is actually cooking for 20 min on stove top first? The taste was good. My kids complained that there was too much onion in it. If I do again, I will chop onion.

I had purchased cooked shrimp on sale and was looking for a recipe when I found this one. I started out by making the orzo first, when just a little water was left I added fresh broccoli and peeled cooked shrimp to heat through. This was very good! My teenaged kids added parm cheese to their dish. Will make again! Thanks for recipe!

This was excellant! I followed a suggestion by another reader and let the strawberries sit for a while after adding a little sugar. I used about 1 1/2 pounds of strawberries. Also, I used only a 3 ounce box of jello, all that I had. Still turned out very good. My husband loved it! The kids devoured it! Thanks for a great recipe!

At first, I thought that fish tacos would not be very good (did not sound appealing). But we went to a little hole in the wall place in Fort Collins were they had this exact dish. I tried it and it has become a family favorite. I was so glad when I found this recipe. Thanks!

I made this for a breakfast pot luck for the office. I followed the directions exactly, but followed the suggestion from another and used sage sausage instead of ham. Cooked for 8 hours and smelled wonderful! But when we went to eat it, it was dry. Needless to say, I still had half of what I brought in. I don't know where I went wrong? I think if I baked it, it would have been better.

These were very good! I did follow the advice of others and cut sugar in half. Not too sweet and not too vinegary. Also, I did not cut paper thin, I cut a little thicker. Perfect! Thanks!
