About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Stromboli, Baked Ziti, Zucchini Bread, Bronwies. I like to bake a lot of various things. And because I grew up in a highly Italian-American area (New Jersey) but live in one that isn't, I make a lot more Italian food, especially to serve up to family that has never had some of the things!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have really good memories of helping my mom bake, and I love to bake with my daughter.
My cooking triumphs
Combining several recipes to get the taste I want. Sharing dishes with friends and family and being asked several times for the recipe. I'm also willing to try new things, even if they don't come out as desired.
My cooking tragedies
I have a bad habit of not setting the timer and sometimes leaving things in longer than desired.

Chayote with Egg and Cheese
Thought this was delish! I swapped the American for cheddar cheese but do think pepper jack would be yummy too. It reminded me of a cross between a hash and omelette, although the onion made it taste sweeter (vidalia). Would definitely make it again.

Modenese Pork Chops
Delicious just the way it is. I used less butter and a little more wine so that it didn't start to burn as the alcohol came off.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
Overall, not a bad recipe. I used the full amount of paprika, and I didn't find it overpowering. If anything, I would probably cut down on the amount of honey, as I found it a bit too sweet. Then I'd anticipate needing to reduce the paprika. Something I might make again, but I'd have to make at least those changes.
