About this Cook
Hi! My name is Katrina and I'm 28 yrs.old. I am a homemaker, wife, and proud mother of five children. Yes that's right I'm 28 and have five children, people never believe it when I say it the first time. My oldest is 8 yrs. ang my youngest is 18 mo. A day in my house is like a day at the circus. It's always a little crazy but definetly never boring. I love to cook and just discovered allrecipes website a few weeks ago. I am really looking forward to finding new and interesting recipes. I also love to read, and enjoy any activity that gets me out of the house for awhile. Bike rides, long walks, and water sports are my favorites.
My favorite things to cook
I love love love my slow cooker. I really like to just be able to put something in it in the morning and have it ready at dinner time without standing over the stove for an hour. It's also great the way it makes the whole house smell good. When I'm not using my slow cooker I like casseroles and quick and easy type meals. I like to try different dishes from around the world, I feel it's important to expose my children to different cultures and cuisines.
My cooking triumphs
I am forever baking desserts; cookies, bars, pies, and cakes. A lot of times I send goodies over to neighbors and friends. That is probably what I am best known for. I do make some fancy meals and desserts but it doesn't happen to often these days.

Guinness(R) Corned Beef
This dish tasted okay and the meat was tender, but didn't actually taste like corned beef and it was a lot of extra work. We ate a lot of corned beef growing up and I serve it often to my family and this dish was lacking that traditional flavor. My husband and kids all agreed they wanted the corned beef made "the regular way" from now on.

Awesome Broccoli Marinara
I'm really glad I found this recipe. Only one of five kids will eat broccoli, so I thought I'd give this one a try. 4 of my 5 actually liked it and said they would eat it again and my husband requested that I make this when his parents come to visit over Easter vacation.

Butterscotch Bread Pudding
I made this last night for dessert and it got rave reviews from my husband and children. I thought it was pretty sweet for bread pudding but everyone else said it was perfect and that I should definitely make it again. This is a great recipe if you're in the mood for something very gooey and sweet!
