About this Cook
I was born and raised in Minneapolis. I have lived in MN, MI, WI, IA, NC, SC and FL. I cooked for my family for 40 years. I learned by trial and error and by reading recipes and cookbooks.
My favorite things to cook
One of my most favorite things to cook is soup. There's an endless variety of combinations and flavors. I also now love quick, easy and light dishes and salads and homemade dressings.
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of my favorite family traditions would be appetizers and finger foods on Christmas Eve.
My cooking tragedies
When we first moved to South Carolina, I tried collard greens and blackeyed peas for New Year's Day (a southern tradition). That probably was not my greatest moment.

French Crepes
This is a delicious recipe. I used gluten free baking mix, one packet stevia, half and half and 2 T. olive oil (because that's what I had on hand) and they were wonderful!

Absolutely Delicious Green Bean Casserole from Scratch
I'm sure this may taste wonderful, but it's too much hassle for me.

Moist Garlic Chicken
This chicken was absolutely delicious. I used a low sodium cajun seasoning so I substituted garlic powder for the garlic salt. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender. I served it in slices with some of the broth spooned over it. The delicate butter flavor was terrific. I think I could cut the butter in half and still have the same great flavor. I use a lot of cooked chicken breast for salads and quick lunches, so this is a perfect way to always have chicken on hand. Thanks for a great recipe.
