A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2015
I cut my chicken in pieces and made a gravy of chicken broth and cooking wine. Was awesome and my kids loved it.

Monte Cristo Sandwich - the Real One

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2014
This was awesome! My kids loved it and have already requested I make it again. I doubled the batter recipe and doubled the meat in the sandwich. I also used cheddar because that is what I had on hand. Will try with Swiss next time. We ate it with red currant jam on the side.

Cracked Sugar Cookies I

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2014
These are awesome. I used the substitutions for the cream of tartar that someone else suggested. I also had to cook about 5 minutes longer.

Bacon Quiche Tarts

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
I made my own biscuit dough which rose much higher than those in the picture. I also used cheddar cheese instead of Swiss and added an extra egg. It made 12 big quiches. My family loved them. They were so big we just ate them as our main meal with cheese grits on the side. I also just put all the bacon on at once - did not add at the end.

German Beef Rouladen

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
This was great! I added more onion just because we like a lot. I got my beef from the German store so it was already flattened out for this dish. I did not use the sour cream. I doubled the gravy and instead of adding all water I did 1/4 red cooking wine and the rest water. So yummy. I did have a little bit of a hard time browning all sides with toothpicks in it but did manage to keep it all together.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2014
These were so easy! I left tartar out but did everything else the same. I did not drop the biscuits on the sheet but hand shaped them just because I like that look. They were crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2014
These are great! I did not use shortening. Used butter instead. I also added some chopped up roasted peanuts just because I had them on hand.

Stuffed Peppers My Way

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
Made as directed except I used brown rice. My children and husband loved it. The feta definitely adds to the taste. Without it, it would boarder on bland.

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2013
This was awesome! I made this using the crust recipe from All American Apple Pie by Amy (from this sight). I only made the bottom crust. I live in a Germany where American packed brown sugar is hard to come by so I used just brown sugar in regular sugar form ( hope that makes sense). It still turned out great. Much better than the pies that use syrup.

Russian Tea Cakes III

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2013
Just made for the first time. I followed the directions exactly and they were a big hit. One reviewer said to sift flour and add things in a particular order - you do not have too. I just put it all in as is and worked it with my hands until I got dough. Make sure you do not make them too big.

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2012
I give this rating using the suggestions by CHEFPEON. I did add an extra 1/2 tsp of vanilla. I used the broiler. The whole top didn't get crunchy, but it was close enough. So easy.

Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
So good. I am making it instead of buying bread. I did have to add just a bit more water each time I made it, but that was all.

Knishes

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2011
Not sure what they are supposed to taste like but these were very good. The crust was very crunchy. I cut with a sharp knife, not a pizza cutter as that squashed my dough.

Chicken Enchilada Soup II

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
Excellent! I did add Rotel but that was the only extra thing - that, I believe is what makes it taste like the soup from Chili's. Very good!
