Cinnamon Cranraisin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2014
This recipe is yummy! I did make some changes, and I can't imagine it tasting as good if I wouldn't have made them. I didn't have any powdered milk, and since other reviewers mentioned it being dry, I used 3 Tbsp. of milk from the fridge in place of the powdered. I also omitted the 2 Tbsp. of white sugar and used 4 Tbsp. of brown sugar instead. I used real butter instead of margarine (I only use real butter when baking), added an extra 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon, and instead of all-purpose flour, I used 1 c. of whole wheat flour and 1 2/3c. bread flour. Oh, and like most others I upped the amount of dried cranberries to 1 full cup and added them with the dry ingredients at the beginning! :)

Oregon Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
These were EXCELLENT! The BEST salmon patties I've had.. Although I did make some changes! First, there is not 3/4 cup of juice in the can of salmon, but that was ok because even with the little bit there was made it too moist and I ended up adding the whole 2/3 cup of cracker crumbs to the mix and just crushed up some more for coating. Second, I didn't have fresh parsley so I used the dried. And Third, I took advise from other reviewers and added 1 tsp. of dill weed. Like I said, "these were FANTASTIC!" I will definitely make again!!

Chocolate Cream Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
This pie is EXCELLENT!! I did take the advice of some others who suggested 4 heaping TBSP of cornstarch and 4 egg yolks instead of 3. Personally, I use a 9.5in. deep dish pie plate so I "up" each of the ingredients by 1/4 (so I actually use 5 heaping TBSP and 5 egg yolks, plus the extra of the other ingredients) and this makes the perfect amount of filling for my pie. It sets up great and tastes wonderful... Thank you so much for this recipe!!

Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2012
Great recipe and I love the topping! The only thing I would even consider changing would be to next time add just a little more brown sugar to make the pie a little sweeter. This could be because the apple butter I made is sweet but not too sweet and is a little tart, so if you're using store bought apple butter you probably wouldn't need to add any extra sugar! You can taste both the apple and pumpkin, but neither is overwhelming. My boyfriend said it was phenomenal! Will definitely make again :)

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2012
These oatmeal cookies are fantastic! Contrary to other reviews, they ARE very moist :) I like adding dried fruits/nuts to mine and use a glass dipped in sugar to flatten them (but only to about 1/2in.). I don't think using the extra sugar when flattening is necessary, but does add a nice touch to the cookies! For those who may not be getting cookies quite as soft as they would like, just a little tip... make sure you are using REAL butter!!! Margarine is NOT good for baking (unless specifically called for in rare circumstances)! ;)

Great Pumpkin Dessert

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
This turned out really good! However, I did make a couple of changes.. I used a spice cake mix instead of just yellow and used a full cup of melted butter. Yum!

Easy Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Overall I would say this recipe is good, but it just isn't quite what I've been looking for. I did take the advise from some other reviews and instead of 2 1/2 c. sugar, I used 1 c. sugar and 1 c. packed brown sugar. I also added 1 tsp. of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg. I think the cinnamon and nutmeg drown-out the banana taste too much and ended up tasting more like a zucchini bread or something! This did turn out very good, but I was just looking for something heavier than this. This recipe is very cake-like, which isn't bad and I would make this again, it just wasn't what I was looking for this time!

Honey Dip

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2012
This is really good! However, I did make one change per other reviewers saying it was too sweet... I only used 1/2 cup of honey and kept everything else the same. Still plenty sweet, but good. I put this on some homemade honey oat bread that I made :)

Fabulous Foolproof Lasagna

Reviewed: May 26, 2013
This was a good lasagna recipe and very basic and easy! However, you will definietly want to use more than one jar of sauce and cook your noodles first. My noodles were still too chewy after baking in oven. I also used more cheese on top! :)

Slow Cooker Ham and Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2012
This recipe was pretty good. I make it almost exactly as stated. The changes I did make: I only used 1/3 c. of brown sugar and would probably even decrease that to only 1/4 c. next time, I used minced garlic instead of garlic salt, and I used a 1 1/2 pound package of Farmland smoked spiral ham slices and pieces. Probably only got a little over a pound once I cut out the "grissly" parts, but just 1/2 pound definitely would not have been enough ham for a full pound of beans! I liked this well enough and wouldn't say I was disappointed with the outcome, but probably will try a different recipe next time!

Chocolate Chip Muffins I

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
These muffins were just "ok". They were moist and very easy to make, however, they have a very flour-y taste to them, especially if you get a bite without any choc. chips in it! If you are going to make these I would recommend using more chocolate chips than stated to make sure you have some in every bite,

Easy Taco Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2010
I was dissapointed because this really wasn't good at all :( The recipe sounded good and was super easy so I had high hopes for it but definitely was let down! My boyfriend and kids wouldn't eat any of it after tasting it and I had to doctor mine up with lots of lettuce, salsa and sour cream to make it where I could finish mine, but still wasn't good.
