Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2008
I liked this meal but it was a lot of prep since we had to pound our chicken thinner, good stress relief though! I used one of the reviewer's tips and dips in egg and bread crumbs, fried in skillet with olive oil for 10 minutes then baked in oven for 20 min and made sauce separate and topped over chicken after baking, very good!

French Toast Stars

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
Awesome flavor! Not too sweet, just right. I didn't have the orange zest this time but will try this recipe again with it since many say it adds to the wonderful flavor. I skipped the cinnamon since I used fresh cinnamon bread from a local bakery. Finally don't have to go to a local restaurant to get fabulous tasting french toast!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
Awesome, disappeared quick! I made these in a mini muffin pan (greased with shortening) since these were for a kids easter social. I didn't have any white sugar on hand so I used brown sugar and frozen tiny blueberries. Be careful how full you fill the muffin pan, my first batch flowed over. Will definitely keep this recipe around.

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2008
TOO SWEET! I was excited to make this recipe since french toast is my favorite breakfast meal and thought this would make a great easter treat. Think we like the texture more when made on a grill pan and would skip the sauce. Would hate to know what our glucose levels are right now :(

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Awesome icing to pair with the best rolled sugar cookies. I added cocoa powder and used vanilla extract instead. This is a recipe I will use again and again since sugar cookies are my son's favorite.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
These are awesome! I didn't change anything and used the sugar cookie icing recipe on this site and added cocoa powder to it. Fabulous recipes to pair together! Perfect sweetness for us!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2008
Fabulous recipe! I love that the filling is not runny like your typical store bought pie and not as salty too. I doubled the recipe since I shredded a rotisserie chicken. I used chicken broth (4cups), 16oz frozen peas and carrots and peeled and chopped up two yukon potatoes when boiling the chicken mixture part. I added 1.5 tsp of garlic powder and 2 tsp of poultry seasoning to the sauce. I bought pre-made pillsbury pie crusts and used a beep dish pie pan which I greased with shortening. I mixed the chicken mixture and sauce mixture before adding to the crust and baked on 375 for 40 minutes. I froze the other half of the chicken and sauce mixture for another future pie. Can't wait for that one too!

Awesome recipe, definitely not buying the season packets anymore and I love that you can control the amount of salt!

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

So much better than the pre-made stuff in the deli section at the grocery store. This was so easy to make, no more pre-made coleslaw for us!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Since Boston offers poor choices for BBQ (We are from Texas and very picky) this was awesome!!! I seasoned the ribs with garlic and onion powder before putting in the oven per other reviewers tips and used 4lbs of country style boneless pork ribs. I also followed the tips of using 2 cups of BBQ instead of 2 cup ketchup and 1 cup ketchup instead of 1 cup chile sauce. This recipe is definitely a keeper for when we miss Texas BBQ!

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
Very tasty! I will definitely make this again except I don't think I will take the advice of others and double the crust. I do agree this is the best part but maybe it was my own error of not pressing the crust out evenly since some parts were hard to get my fork through though I used a bigger pan than suggested :( Also, others suggest freezing it a couple hours before serving but I kept the pie in the fridge for 24 hrs before slicing and thought the consistency was great, not too soft not too firm. Next time I will buy a pre-made crust to save time. To me they taste just as good and less work. I did sprinkle the top with cookie crumbs and I had some peanut butter chips on hand so I slightly chopped a hand full and sprinkle that on top as well.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
This recipe tastes really good, even better the second day. I followed a couple reviewers' tips and added 1 T worcestershire to the mix and a few splashes to the ketchup, minced up three gloves of garlic, and used 1/4c of brown sugar. I put the brown sugar and ketchup on top and used 93/7 lean ground beef and it turned out great!

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
This meal was great. I made my own tomato sauce using Giadia DeLaurentis' recipe for Simple Tomato sauce found at www.foodnetowrk.com. I also used 3lb of boneless, skinless chicken thighs, 11oz of sliced mushrooms, dried oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper due to other reviewers suggestions and cooked on low ofr 7 hours. We served ours over whole wheat linguine and this recipe is definitely a do over for us!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Will make again but need to perfect the timing on the biscuits. I followed one reviewers tip of adding it 3hrs before eating but think that was too long, cooked meal on low heat. I think 30 minutes before serving would be too short.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Turned out great. I kept some white, added pink dye to some and cocoa to the rest. I liked the chocolate the best but the kids enjoyed all three flavors on their cupcakes :)

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Very tasty with following Jillybean's tips. We ate this over fettuccini noodles one night and brown rice the the other. My husband thought this dish would be great with just sauce and meat and serve with garlic mash potatoes. Will have to try that next time.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Perfect for any peanut butter lover. I put reese peanut butter hearts instead since I made these for valentine's day. I also made a big cookie (shape dough in ball and place directly on cookie sheet) for my husband to take to work in his lunch and he liked them that way more as opposed to using a mini muffin pan.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
This recipe is a keeper. Instead of chicken breasts I used boneless skinless chicken thighs and doubled the sauce. I did end up having sauce left over but froze it and will just make a smaller portion of this meal next time.
