Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
This was my first venture with dehydrated sundried tomatoes and I was not impressed. Maybe I did something wrong, but they were mushy and tasteless and the spinach was overpowering. It sounded good, but we didn't care for it.

Rhubarb Strawberry Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
I only had 2 cups of rhubarb, so I adjusted the recipe by 1/3 and put in a 9x9 pan for 35 minutes. It was delicious and a big hit with my husband who loves strawberry-rhubarb pie. Will definitely make again using the correct amounts.

Apple Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
When my husband saw me making this he questioned the apples, but everyone who had this at our party enjoyed it and he has said I can make it again anytime. I used a 16 oz. bag of shredded cabbage and carrots, left out the "additional" carrot, and followed the rest of the recipe.

Chicken and Peppers with Balsamic Vinegar

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2011
This was ok, but not great. Have other chicken/balsamic vinegar recipes I like better.

Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This was just ok to me. Of all of the ingredients, I like green beans the least, but it was what I liked most in this recipe. The caramelized garlic and cheese taste wasn't really there for me (and yes, I do know what a head of garlic is). I used frozen beans instead of canned as some others had done. It was the only change I made. My husband had no comments on it and he likes green beans and loves anything with cheese on it. Won't bother to make this again.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
I have been looking for a good meatball recipe and I have finally found it! My meatballs were on the small side, so thebaking time was just a touch too long, but still good. I ate one right after they came out of the oven because they smelled so good! Served with Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata from this site.

Brooklyn Girl's Penne Arrabiata

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
If you don't like spice, cut back on the red pepper flakes, but this was a delicious spicy tomato sauce. I served it with Meatball Nirvana from this site instead of the chicken. Agree with others this doesn't make 6 servings. More like 3-4.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
I used turkey sausage because we prefer it. Good meal. Will definitely make again.

Honeyed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Might have been better if my husband had been home when they were done, which was after 30 minutes, not 60 minutes. I never bake pork chops that long, but thought maybe with all the sauce they would need additional time. They did not. The sauce was liquid, even after an hour, so I mixed in 1/2 Tbsp of cornstarch and water to thicken it. It was ok, but I have better recipes. Won't be making again.

Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
I was excited to try this after all of the rave reviews. I found the overall flavor rather bland and guess in general I prefer my salmon baked to steamed in foil. Will not make again. Also, where the lemons touched the garlic, the garlic turned a bluish color and looked like mold, which was not very appealing.

Green Beans With Shallot Dressing

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
We are not fans of raw onions, but I thought the shallots would be ok. It was still a little too much "onion" tasting for us - it overpowered the asparagus. I'd rather just have plain steamed asparagus.

Pasta Primavera with Italian Turkey Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
Delicious! I removed the sausage casing and broke up into chunks instead of slicing. Added mushrooms (sounded like a good addition to me) and cut back on the basil because my husband sometimes thinks the fresh is overpowering. Very flavorful. Will definitely make again. It was so good, I would serve for a casual dinner with family or friends.

Cauliflower and Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
I'm not a huge fan of cheese sauce over my veggies, but my husband is, so I tried this. We were both very disappointed. I steamed the vegetables for 3 minutes and they were still overcooked and almost tasteless. And the sauce was very watery. It is the same way I make sauce for macaroni and cheese, so my guess is that the vegetables release water as they bake and dilute the sauce. Will definitely not make this again.

Broccoli and Tomato Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2010
This was different, but we enjoyed it. I had plenty of tomatoes from my garden, so I used those. My quantity was probably a little off because my sauce was pretty thick, btu we all enjoyed it.

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

I like sweet, so expected to love it, but it was just ok. I have better pork chop recipes and will skip this in the future.

Banana Plum Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
My husband liked it, but I was a little disappointed. It was pretty dense and a little dry, especially compared to the banana bars I make. Next time I need to use up plums, I may just add them to my own recipe.

Spiced Plum Pork Chops

This was delicious and smelled so good while it was cooking! I doubled the plums and reduced the cooking time to about 6 hours.

Hershey's® White Chocolate Cinnamon Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
This is a family favorite. I am requested to make it every year for Christmas morning, but nobody complains if I make them more often. These make a good-sized scone, so I cut the wedges in 12 and reduce the baking time.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Marinated chicken and vegetables, separately overnight. My fiance thought it was pork, which he loves, and I didn't bother to tell him otherwise. I did add the cornstarch to the vegetable marinade to baste, as others recommended, but it was much too thick, even though I only used half the amount of cornstarch. Will try again without the cornstarch.

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
This was a huge hit at a family dinner. As some other reviewers suggested, I like to shred my meat before it is finished cooking so it better absorbs the sauce. I shredded after about 5 hours.
