Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2014
I HAVE PREPARED THIS MARINADE SEVERAL TIMES AND WE REALLY ENJOY IT. I MAKE NO CHANGES TO IT AND IT'S PERFECT EVERY TIME. TONIGHT WE HAD VENISON TENDERLOIN AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. IT'S A KEEPER.

Pineapple Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2014
We enjoyed this relish very much. It's just what I was looking for on Thanksgiving. I didn't have strawberries on hand and it was still delicious. It goes with any meat. I will add strawberries next time. And what could be easier to prepare. Thanks for posting it. It's A Keeper.

Italian Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2013
We love soups all through the year. I'm going to start this one now for the second time. I was hesitant at first because I usually bypass a long list of ingredients. But it has everything in it that we like. I like a soup with substance and this one certainly has that. The only changes I made was replacing the cabbage with potatoes and adding 4 cups more water. This is just personal preference and did nothing to change the delicious taste. Thanks for this recipe, Jackie.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2013
I believe this is the best muffin recipe ever. My aunt gave me this one about 50 years ago but was baking it before that. I don't know where she got it. The only difference is she made it with shortening instead of oil and sprinkled sugar on top before baking. But it's still the same delicious taste. I'm going to try it with the topping next. It's a keeper.

Raisins and Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2012
I tried this recipe last week and am happy with the result. My arthritis dictates that I look for easier recipes. This looked easy and it was, taking little time. I doubled the recipe and did add 1 tsp vanilla and a little cinnamon. It was very good. I usually baked mine but I am no longer able to do that. Thanks for sharing. It's a keeper for me.

All-American Burger Dog

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
I have been making these for years. I had leftover hot dog buns, so this was how I used them up. I gave the burgers a flat shape and could fit the goodies on top without dropping everything. I also flattened the bun a little.

Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2012
I'm glad to see that other cooks make the pie filling first as well. I started doing so when my wall oven always seemed to be at too high a heat no matter what temp I set it on. In order to delay replacing an old oven, I started making the filling on the stovetop, then filling the crust and only having to worry about keeping the crust from burning. It seemed like extra work at first, but there were never any surprises. Not only did that work for the apple pies, but for others as well. I made this recipe as written--only added some cinnamon and nutmeg and it was very good. It's a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Fresh Apple Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
This is my rave review for this cake. The first thing we noticed was that it tasted almost exactly like a dense, moist Welsh cake that my Aunt was given by her MIL about 80 years ago. It had 5 or 6 spices in it with raisins and nuts. It was called Cake Brith (Welsh). It had no apples in it, yet it tastes similar. I'm making one to take to my sister who is having breast cancer surgery tomorrow. I'm positive she and hubby will enjoy it as well. I followed this recipe exactly, but halved it for 2 of us. The next one will be 9X13 in size. I used Granny Smiths and it was perfect in taste, moisture and texture. I'm adding raisins next. Thank you for sharing a delicious treat. It's a keeper.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
This is a very good soup. It is thick, but that's what we prefer. I had never used barley before but we like it. My husband said it's a keeper and I agree. I certainly will be making it again. Thanks for sharing.

Good memories. We learned to make these in our Home Economics class 55 years ago. I still make them occasionally. I think they are tasty.

Mad Dogs

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
We learned to make these 55 years ago in our Home Economics cooking class. We also added narrow spears of dill or sweet pickles inside the slit also. They were really good and I still make them occasionally. It's nice to see them here. Good memories.

Kielbasa with Peppers and Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2011
We liked this recipe. I made some minor changes. I cooked venison hot sausage and small-chunk potatoes in oil in a skillet. In a saucepan, I cooked in chicken broth the thinly-sliced peppers and onions. Then I added these to the skillet along with some leftover green beans. Lastly I sprinkled some cayenne pepper for flavor. I like that this is a versatile recipe by varying the meat and veggies. DH and I say "This is a keeper". Thanks for sharing.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2010
I made these for the first time today. I don't care for mushrooms but my husband does. Some large ones were given to us recently so I made some exactly as written. My husband says "perfect". He likes spicy dishes, so he loves these. It's a keeper for us. I just added a little grated Parmesan and cayenne on top of the filling. Thank you Angie.

I finally found a recipe that's crispy enough for me. I followed the recipe exactly plus onion powder to taste. I always spray a cooling rack and bake meat, chicken or fish on it(NOT SOGGY ON BOTTOM-DOESN'T STICK).PERFECT! On to the fish next. Thanks for the keeper.

I have been making meatloaf muffins for years. I tried this recipe and we liked it. As the recipe says, use LEAN ground beef or you will get grease in the tins. I will be making it again. Thanks for the recipe.

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2008
We purchase this salad from an Amish shop from Lancaster, PA (Amish country) and this recipe's taste is accurate. I made only one change (less sugar), but used the exact ingredients listed. It turned out perfectly. Thank you Connie. It's a KEEPER.
