Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
The flavor of the ingredients blends so nicely. I skipped the freezing and baked, rather than fried, and we were still very happy with it. What was nice was that I was able to cook everything without the chicken in it to make a couple of rolls for my vegetarian, then added my cooked chicken for the rest of us. Thanks for sharing!

Sausage and Mushroom Tarts

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Very good. Some hassle factor, but not too bad, esp. if you have oven space available to keep the batches going. Made a few batches for a family gathering and they were scooped right up.

Lasagna Spirals

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2009
Subbed cottage cheese for ricotta and added some seasonings. Cooked it covered with a pile of meatballs in the corner for the meat eaters. There is some nuisance value to rolling it up, but overall a very good recipe. My whole family loved it. Thank you.

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
Very simple and tasty when you need a "curry fix". I found the texture of the sauce a bit grainy, but it's not a huge drawback. This recipe makes a lot of sauce so, if you're not into sopping it up with something, throw in twice the amount of chicken and stretch the dish.

Indian Chicken Curry (Murgh Kari)

Easy, delicious and aromatic. Might be a little spicy for some palates, but that's easily adjusted. Thanks for sharing.

Doris's Shrimp Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
I found this a bit bland, but don't really know what it needed. I should note that it might have been better had I not taken the lazy route and put the salad shrimp in frozen. As they thawed, the salad turned watery - my fault. Even done properly, tho, I think it needs something else. Good potential here.

Savory Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
Tasty, easy and forgiving (I didn't have soy sauce so used some chili garlic sauce and a bit of rice vinegar). Pork was very tender.

Cuban Shredded Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
Yummy and different way to serve pork. Could have used a bit more flavor for my taste, but still very good as is. Served w/black beans and rice and corn. Will make this again.

Easy Company Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
Sorry, this one just didn't do it for me. I didn't care for the texture of the sauce and don't feel the curry incorporated smoothly into this recipe. Still edible, but I don't think I'll make it again.

Guacamole

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
Easy and delicious. Made a large batch for a family gathering and expected to have a lot leftover, but they ate it all! I actually did the right thing and used fresh cilantro and it made all the difference. A keeper.

Asparagus, Chicken, and Pecan Pasta

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
I did make some changes but suspect this would be great with any number of changes or none at all. We have one vegetarian, so I used vegetable broth instead of chicken broth (also added the cooked chicken last so I could serve some without). I added a little cajun seasoning and a bit of red pepper flakes. I was pretty liberal with the amounts of ingredients as well as I was fudging a slightly larger batch and I frequently don't measure. Lastly, I toasted the pecans with some shelled pumpkin seeds that I need to use up. Rave reviews from all of us. Thanks for sharing!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
A different twist on chicken. Very tasty, very easy. Do add flour when browning the chicken. I didn't bother dredging; I just sprinkled some in with the cooking chicken. I also set aside a bit of the sauce and cooked up some fake chicken for my vegetarian. Again, really easy and yummy. I already have requests to make it again. A keeper.

Beefy Cheesy Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
Granted, I didn't follow the recipe exactly. I used a bag of shredded mexican-type cheeses, a pound of beef and a pound of pasta. I simply found it kind of bland and unexciting. Seasoning could help that, but you might be better off making a proper cheese sauce, as well.

Far superior to canned at a fraction of the cost. Quick, easy and customizable -- prepared while getting the rest of my stuff assembled. Thanks. Won't buy canned again.

Crispy Orange Beef

This really was good and quite easy -- a lot of steps -- but none of them difficult. It could also be easily spiced up with red pepper flakes, if you wanted. I'll make it again!

VERY good recipe. Of course, I also adjusted for my family's tastes, but overall the flavors are excellent and we'll make this again. Thanks!
