About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Lets see..I like to cook a variety of things. I love trying to duplicate restaurant recipes (not that I always succeed), but when I eat something I enjoy, I like to challenge myself to try and figure out how it was made. I do however, tend to find myself making dishes that don't consist of side dishes. You know like soups, meatballs and spaghetti, chilie over rice, lasagna, ect, ect... I like being able to put my focuses on one dish and try and make it as perfect as I can possibly can. All in all I like to cook what I like to eat...so basically everything!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family cooking traditions would be Portuguese dishes. I will have to say that I wasn't always in love with those dishes growing up. Now that I'm older and can cook for myself I have learned to add my own twist to some of those dishes, without taking the authenticity away.

Banana Sour Cream Bread
This was pretty good, I would not say it was the best. I followed the directions exactly, EXCEPT that I baked it at 325 degress for 1 1/2 hours (as suggested by another reviewer). Next time I make Banana Bread I will certiainly try out a different recipe.

Chocolate Strawberries
Follw directions as written, and you CAN'T go wrong. It boggles my mind that people actually make changes to something so good and simple as this. If you like strawberries and you like choclate you will no doubt love this recipe.

World's Best Lasagna
I have tried other lasagnas, this is by far the best. You don't have to use fresh basil, but its so worth it. I also add a dash of nutmeg to my ricotta (skim) and use Barilla's (no boiling required) Lasagna, its a flat shaped lasagna. Pefection!
