Banana Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
This bread is excellent, I used applesauce instead of oil and chocolate chips instead of raisins. I used 2 1/2 bananas (my son ate the other 1/2) and a little over 1/2 of a big can of pumpkin puree. I didn't measure. Half the batter went into a loaf pan and the other half went into a muffin tin. the muffins were done in about 20 minutes, and the bread took close to an hour. It was so delicious and moist. I'm making more tonight, thank you!!

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Delicious! I used some black pepper marinated sirloins that we bought awhile back but didn't really care for because they were a little tough. They were tender and delicious after using them in this recipe! I used a whole onion and 2 1/2 large green peppers. I added the peppers half way through. I also added 1/2 cup of water in the beginning, so I needed to add a little more cornstarch. There was a good amount of "gravy" at the end and was perfect served over plain white rice. Thank you for a great recipe!

Beer Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
This was excellent! I followed the recipe to a "T" and it came out perfect! I didn't even taste the chilis in it at all so I may add some more to it next time, but it's perfect as is. Will definitely make again. yummm, thank you!

Rice Balls a la Tim

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
These were delicious! I used closer to a pound of ground beef and kept everything else the same. I rolled them in 3 inch balls and they were perfect. The whole family enjoyed them, even my little one. Thank you for a great recipe!

French Bread with the Kitchen Aid

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
Thank you Baking Nana! This was my first time making bread and your recipe is fool-proof (which is EXACTLY what I need) I made two loaves today, following your recipe to a T, and they came out absolutely beautiful! I made them to go with dinner tonight. They came out of the oven 10 minutes ago and half a loaf is already gone, so let's hope they make it until dinner. Thank you for helping me conquer my bread-making fear ;)

Pasta e Olio

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
This was really good. Tasty, light and quick. I tossed it with Whole Wheat Rotini and used it as a side dish for baked chicken. Unfortunately had to omit the red pepper flakes because of my little one, but still very good.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
These were delicious! It was my 18 month old son's first year making Christmas cookies, which needless to say was an adventure. Even with having to roll it out 1000 times and having to keep flouring the board over and over, they came out delicious. Thank you for a great recipe!

Crab-Stuffed Filet Mignon with Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This was absolutely delicious. By far one of the best recipes I've ever made. The sauce by itself was to die for and deserves 10 stars, it can be used on so many different things. It's a very pricey meal which is why it sat in my recipe box for over 2 years. We made it on Christmas Eve and even though I made the crab stuffing and began the sauce, as well as stuffed the steaks beforehand, it still took forever. I don't think I'll make this again because after all the time it took and the cost of the meal, we might as well have went out to eat. It was very very good, though and kind of made me feel like a chef :) Thanks for the great recipe!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
This was great. I halved the recipe because I only had a pound of turkey. I also used shredded mild cheddar because it's what I had on hand and put some onion and garlic powder in the mix. Easy and delicious. Thanks for a great recipe!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
I made these 4 days ago and they are just as moist, soft and chewy as they were when they first came out of the oven. Absolutely delicious. I baked them for 9 minutes and they were perfect. I used all butter because I was out of shortening. these were so fantastic, thank you!

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This was sooo good. There aren't even words. My husband was practically drooling over it and had three servings at dinner. I used all potato bread and Jimmy Dean's Sage Pork Sausage as suggested by others. It was absolutely delicious and absolutely gorgeous. I stuffed it right in the turkey and it was nice and moist. Thank you for an AMAZING recipe!

Cranberry Sauce I

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This couldn't have been any easier. Made with 1/2 OJ, 1/2 water, 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 white. It was nice and thick after chilling in the fridge overnight. I will never, ever buy the can again!

Excellent! I used turkey stock instead of chicken bouillon. Stuffed that beautiful baby with the sausage, cranberry and apple stuffing from this site. Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you!

Johnny's Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
Delicious! I used the cast iron skillet but may try regular pans next time. The bottoms were a little hard, but was most likely my fault. I made them ahead of time and put the entire skillet in my refrigerator covered with damp paper towels so they wouldn't dry out. Baked them a few hours later. Still delicious just the same!

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
I can't believe I never thought of this before. I lined my crock with tin foil for an easy cleanup. Was able to make my mashed while my son napped and didn't have to worry about them when came time for dinner with a hungry toddler running around!

Chicken With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
This was delicious! I only had Panko bread crumbs (which can be very bland) so I seasoned them with seasoning salt, white pepper, oregano and this garlic and onion marinade spice. I sauteed the mushrooms with minced garlic in olive oil before adding them to the pan and added a can of cream of mushroom like other reviewers suggested. Served it with a veggie rice side dish. Delicious! I'm making a wrap with it today for lunch! Thanks for the quick, easy and delicious recipe!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2011
Very good and easy to prepare. I may reduce cooking time, or lower the temp, because an entire layer hardened and burned to the bottom of the dish. Most likely user error though! What was salvageable was delicious! Thank you for the recipe!

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
These were very good. I made them for a cookie exchange. Made them the night before and they were still nice and soft the next day (and several days later) Fresh baking soda and room temperature eggs were key in finally getting the cookies to rise! This is the first time my snickerdoodles didn't "collapse" on me so thank you for a great recipe and thanks to the reviewers for great advice!
