Banana Cake VI

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
Unbelievably good!!! I even froze this cake for a week before serving and eating to save time before a party. The banana flavor is perfect and the cake is so moist. The cream cheese frosting is the perfect compliment. Even my banana flavor haters loved this! Thanks for the recipe.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2012
My family went nuts for this chocolate cake. Frosted with chocolate ganache which put it over the top. I made the cake on a Thursday night for a Saturday party. I was super moist even after a day and a half. I think you need to be a true chocolate lover, though. I am not that big of a fan so this was just too rich for me, but everyone else loved it!

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Awesome baked fries! Loved the mix of seasoning that take these over the top. I used red skin potatoes sliced thinner than wedges. My seasoning mix was chili, garlic and onion powder and cajun seasoning. I agree with others who said to be very liberal with the spices because they tend to get lost in translation with the oil. With the thinner cut I baked them at 425 for 30 mins, flipping after 15 and broiling them for about 3 mins at the end. Great tasting seasoned fries!

Crispy Fish Fillets

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Delicious! My whole family loved this...even my picky 8 yr old! I added come cajun spice to the egg mixture and floured fillets prior to egg wash. I also used panko instead of potatoe flakes because that was what I had on hand. I even used less oil than called for and the fillets cooked up great in my grill pan. Thanks for the great recipe!

Microwave Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2012
This wasn't too bad for a super quick alfredo sauce. I actually scaled it for 8 servings and used reduced fat cream cheese and skim milk. I recommend adding some garlic powder, pinch of seasoning salt and a little pepper for extra flavor. I added this sauce to sauteed turkey sausage with red bell pepper and elbow noodles. My family really liked this. Thanks for the idea!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
This was very good. Made everything according to recipe except for omitting nutmeg. The sweetness of the brown sugar worked perfect with the tartness of apples and savory of the pork. Served with mashed sweet potatoes and garlic green beans. Great meal! Fancy for company but also easy enough for a regular weeknight.

Slow-Cooked Corn Chowder

I enjoyed this soup...more than anyone else in my family. Your really have to like corn. I substituted smoked turkey sausage for the ham. Added a little extra garlic. This reheated well for lunch throughout the week.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

A great standby appetizer for my family. Works good with canned or fresh cooked chicken breasts. I usually use one block of cream cheese and sometimes dont even use the shredded cheddar, dont miss either. You can easily cut down on the buffalo sauce as needed for sensitive palates. Quick and easy and never any left over.

Sour Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
This was delicious! Loved the tartness of the sour cream topping. I did not have a springform pan so I made recipe as is and split it between two nine inch pie plates. This actually turned out better than expected because it allowed for smaller pieces which went farther at our holiday party. I will definitely make this again. A true authentic cheesecake for the cheesecake lover. Thanks for posting!

My kids loved these! I folded the dough over to make a square and had pretty good success keeping all the filling in. Great recipe for a quick easy dinner for the kids.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
I have made this cake many times and just realized that I have not reviewed it. Opps...This recipe is definitely a keeper with just a few changes. I used just a little over 1/2 cup of oil, 1/2 brown sugar, 1/2 white sugar and about 5 cups of granny smith apples. I also used a bundt pan and sprinkled cinnamon/sugar on the inside, baked about 50 minutes. Everyone who had tried this has loved it. Thanks!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
OMG!!! This was totally amazing! And I am not even a chocolate lover. I used 1/2 the amount of oil and it was still incredibly moist. The chocolate chips make it over the top. It doesn't even need frosting. Delicious!

Lighter Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
We loved this! I used 1/3 less fat Philadelphia and about 1/4 cup of light butter. I also prepared the whole 16 oz box of pasta. We thought there was plenty of sauce. Also added chicken to make it a complete meal. This is best if eaten right after being prepared since it does get a little pasty after sitting for a while. We are going to try it with shrimp next time. Thanks for the recipe, my family loved it! And I felt good about less calories :)

Pretty good. Quite salty, though. Might use low sodium soy next time. We prefer a little more "sweet" in our stir fry. Could easily adjust with brown sugar or honey.

This was a delicious addition to our annual St. Patty's day party. I used only vanilla yogurt since i didn't have any plain. I keep everything else the same. It was a great, healthy, sweet treat. Might add strawberries next time. Thanks for the recipe.

Liked the buttery smoothness of the sauce but it was just a little too much lemon. May make again with a little less lemon.

Ten Minute Enchilada Sauce

This recipe turned out great! Even better than store bought. I did substitute chicken broth for water but kept everything else the same. I may actually add just a little more broth next time because it was slightly thicker than I wanted. Great smoky flavor with just the right spice. Thanks for posting!
