Soups and Muffins, you can make a lot at a time and freeze the leftovers. Generally though I love to be creative, substituting healthier ingredients into recipes as well as creating new vegetarian dishes by combining what ever is in the kitchen that week.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom made everything from a box or a can, then I learned that fresh ingredients were key to a healthy diet. Now I recreate my mom's comfort foods with fresher, healthier ingredients.
My cooking tragedies
My Giada de Laurentiis-inspired chocolate trifle cake. It took me about 3 hours to make, 1 hour to clean up, and 6 hours to chill. It was dry and awful so I threw the cake away and just saved the chocolate mousse to dip strawberries and graham crackers into
