Crabby Bagels

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
We enjoyed these sandwiches. I substituted ranch for sour cream as I didn't have any on hand. Maybe our bagels were big, but the filling couldn't quite stretch to make four sandwiches as juicy as we preferred. All in all, it was a tasty meal.

Easy Broccoli Quiche

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
Following the advice of many other reviewers, I cut the filling to half an onion, a heaping cup of broccoli, 3 eggs, and 3/4 cups milk. I also substituted cheddar cheese in place of half the mozzerella. The quiche cut cooked perfectly in 45 minutes, cut easily, and tasted delicious. My husband and daughter finished their first piece in record time and went back for seconds. We will definitely make this recipe again.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
This recipe really amazed me. After reading the ingredient list and directions, I was expecting a simple tasting family dessert with adequate texture, but nothing more. We were delighted when the cobbler emerged from the oven as an attractive and delicious dessert. The berry filling was perfectly gooey (not runny or dry). The batter had risen to the top to form a crunchy topping. The taste, while not flashy, was quite satisfying. I rated this recipe 5 stars since the small effort created a dish that was well worth the time and ingredients. There may be better cobbler recipes available, but this recipe did not fail to impress this amateur cook. As a side note, I used a frozen berry mix that had melted and refrozen into a block of berries and had planned to toss them since I couldn't separate the mess. This recipe saved me from being wasteful, in addition to creating a wonderfully tasty experience.

Fruit Dip II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
This dip was fantastically easy and delicious. The texture was wonderful, as if clung to the fruit without being too sticky. We tried the dip with strawberries, pineapple, kiwi, mandarin oranges, and bananas. While the dip was a perfect complement to all, we thought the sweet cream cheese taste with fresh pineapple was out of this world. Thanks for providing a fantastic party appetizer and a great way to get my husband and daughter to eat a variety of fruit.

Harvest Yams

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I gave this recipe three stars since it would not be edible as written. Using the advice of other reviewers, I steamed the yams in the microwave for 8 minutes prior to preparing. After adding the other ingredients, I baked the dish for about 35 minutes. Even after pre-steaming and baking more than the suggested time, many pieces were still too hard to eat. I microwaved the yams an additional 3 minutes until most of the slices had a nice texture. The flavor was good and my husband, who doesn't usually enjoy non-traditional vegetable, enjoyed them. With the additional cooking, I would rate this recipe four stars. But until the author updates the directions, I cannot highly recommend Harvest Yams.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
These cookies were very easy and had a wonderful texture. My only compaint was the artificial flavor that undoubtedly came from the cake mix (as I used lemon juice as a substitution for the extract). But, seeing as the whole batch was enjoyed in only a couple days time, I will make these again.

We absolutely love this recipe! It makes a great snack for game nights and company. We have tried the recipe with chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, and vanilla chips (white chocolate) and have enjoyed each version.

This was a fantastic sandwich that rivaled any restaurant sandwich we have eaten. The whole family enjoyed it and we will make it again soon.

This is a wonderfully simplistic and delicious recipe. I have used this recipe several times as a base for roasted potatoes (trying garlic salt and other herbs).

Coconut Oatmeal Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
This recipe was so easy that I was able to make it with baby on hip. I halved the recipe and made four minor changes: * I used only butter (no shortening on hand). * I added a little extra oatmeal as previous reviewers suggested. * I mixed all the ingredients together in my Kitchenaid (I didn't separate wet and dry). * I shortened the cooking time until the cookies appeared baked on the sides and still moist in the middle. The end result was wonderful. The buttery coconut taste was warm and exotic. The coconut and oatmeal added a nice texture. The cookies were a little flatter than most recipes I have made, but undercooking them allowed them to remain moist. I will definitely make this recipe again.
