I am an homemaker who loves to cook. I am only limited by the size of my small kitchen and the length of time I can spend on my legs due to a disability. I try to look for recipes that don't involve huge prep time but I always end up overdoing it just for that great result in the end.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that will put a smile on my family's faces, especially two fussy children. Its great when they actually clean their plates. Chicken is a mainstay in our home. I must have 101 uses for chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I started my own family traditions of baking every christmas with the kids.
My cooking triumphs
I am proud of the few birthday cakes that I have made. I have made cakes for my children's birthdays and I always had great reviews. I have made red spiderman cake with webs, a blues clues cake and a great looking black forrest cake. I surprise myself sometimes.
My cooking tragedies
I learned to cook on my own, I did not have anyone to show me how. I laugh at my first year. Myself and fiancé at the time, ate a lot of my mistakes. I remember using a huge amount of meat tenderizer on the steak thinking more is better. I didn't realize it was so salty. We ate those salty steaks anyway. I have burned many things throughout the years but I am at a place where I am more confident in my cooking.
