Grandma's Fresh Apple Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2008
it was my first time at all to bake a cake from a scrach ,and it was yummmmmmmmmy . I made it all with just apple and I added 1/2 tsb of vanilla, I found the sugar is too much for me so I used just 1/2 cup and may be I`ll reduce it the second time as long as the apple is full of sugar.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
I made it yesterday and it was yummy , it`s my first time to bake brownie from scrach. it totally satisfied my chocolate craving, the cocolate chips makes it so moist ..not like a cake , actually it`s a chocolate like brownie . I thought the sugar will be to much so I just used 1/4 cup and it was enough for me . it`s the best brownie i have ever eaten in my entire life...thank you for this amazing simple delicious recipe.

Fried Butterflied Shrimp

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
I gave it five stars coz the shrimp was very crisb like the fried shrimp that we have in our favorite seafood resturant , but the flavor is very poor so I added salt , black pepper, cumin , lemon juice and garlic powder to the shrimp and just salt and black pepper to the water mixture ...so it was the best shrimp I have ever had . as many other reviews said that the water and the cornstarch is toooooooo much for one pound , I had one pound large shrimp and I just used 1/4 the amount of the water and the cornstarch .

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I`m not vegeterian but I was searching for a chocolate cake without butter or much oil and I found this amazing recipe. the most things that I lik about this recipe that it has a very affordable Ingredients, the second thing is the preparing method is very simple all u need is a spoon and a bowl...very easy, and the third thing the texture ..sooooooo moist and not oily at all. I did`t like it when it first came out of the oven it had a wierd taste and smell I was very disappointed, but I waited 6 hours to try it again and it was so different so moist and tastes very well and the best thing that it`s not too sweet the sugar amount with perfect. thank you for this great recipe

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
I made this almost every week for two years and here is my notes : 1) double the sugar (1 TBS sugar ) 2) I've tried the active dry yeast many times , but the best results that I had is using an instant yeast (used the same amount 1 1/2 tsp instant yeast) 3) I used EVO even when I grease the bowl . 4) I don't have a bread machine so I l Put the dough in a greased bowl and cover it and leave it in a warm place (some times in the winter I set the oven on the lowest temperature for 5-10 mins and then turn it off and put the bowl inside the oven and leave it for almost 30 mins or until it's double in size ). 5)when U roll the dough balls in to circles don't make them very thin or the bread is going to be dry , after rolling the balls to circles I leave them covered with a large piece of cloth in a well floured surface for almost 20 mins . 6) I've tried to bake them on a cake rack ,but I hated it , I also tried the cookie sheet but the bread didn't puff high and sometimes it'll stuck . the best results I had is using an air bake pizza sheet (the round one that has holes ) . 7) use the lowest oven rack .

Baklava

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
it was a huge success. I`m from the middle east where u can find the Baklava at any bakery, but this one is really better than any Baklava I have ever had . I used 2 cups of walnut and 2 of pecan but I think the butter is tooooooooo much I used just 1/2 cup of butter and it was fairly enough.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
it was good , fast and easy . the good thing about it that I can satisfy every one in my family by one recipe , I can divide the batter and mix each part with different fruits and spices according do every one . my favorite is adding 2 cups of shredded carrots + 1 cup of raisins + 1 tbs cinnamon. the next time I`ll add some coconut . I think the sugar amount is good, not too sweet or too bland.

Chocolate Surprise Cupcakes

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2009
amazing recipe. the first time I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out good but the second time I made some changes to make it better . 1- I used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 +1/2 cup white sugar. 2- one cup of fat free milk instead of one cup of water. 3- used 1/3 less fat cream cheese , I think I`ll use the fat free the next time .- added 1/4 cup more of cocoa powder, 5- I added the cream cheese mixture on top of the cupcakes then added just 1 TBS of the cake mixture , then I used the knife on the cupcake surface to make it like marble .
