Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

The first day I made the cake I hated it and I felt like it has too much stuff in it and I could feel the carrots , the cake was also bland . The next day it got better but the third day in the refrigerator it got way much butter and I couldn't see the carrots and and every thing absorbed by the cake . The only change i've made is adding 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Basboosa II

I'm sorry it didn't work for me . I'm from the middle east and Basboosa is one of my favorite desserts but some thing was wrong with the recipe , I don't think only how fine is the Semolina coz my mom makes it with the fine one but I might did something wrong the Basboosa came. Tough and didn't absorb the syrup . The one thing i'm sure of is the pan size that made it so thick for Basboosa if the recipe worked for me I would use at least a 9 inch pan coz the thicker the Basboosa the longer time it will take in the oven which makes it more dry

I used half the amount of chocolate and half milk half water for my instant coffee . Vanilla adds a very nice smell and flavor . I used Truvia instead of sugar

Pumpkin Pie Spice I

Loved to use what ever I have in my pantry without shopping for a new ingredient. MC pumpkin spice has only cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and allspice , however some people like to add cloves and some like to add cardamom it depends , U can customize it the way U like

Pumpkin Muffins with Streusel Topping

My family loved it so much . I made a few changes : used 1cup of Truvia baking blend + 2 TBS molases in place of 2 cups of sugar (next time I'm gonna add more molases may be 3 or 4 TBS). As it was suggested I used the whole can of pumpkin. I skipped the topping and made a cream chease glaze (4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature, 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, 3 to 4 tablespoons milk) I got 18 muffins and baked them at first on 400 degree to get the cracked muffin tops then reduced it to 350 for 15 mins

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

I made the pie crust with my own recipe I only followed the filling part in the recipe . Two things I didn't like , the first thing the pie wasn't sweet enough , may be the pumpkin it self wasn't sweet and the sugar amount meant to be for the sugar pumpkin , what I had was the regular pie pumpkin . The second thing I didn't like was that there is a lack of spices , something was missing , it needed more cinnamon and allspice or cloves ,

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

I used half a cup of Truvia baking blend instead of 1 cup of sugar and I was surprised it tastes really good not like Splenda or any artifficial sweetner . I also liked that Truvia dissolves in the water very fast not like the regular sugar

Janet's Famous Banana Nut Bread

This recipe is a keeper , I halfed the recipe and made 12 muffins and they were very moist and yummy with a few changes . First I used waaay less sugar 3/4 cup, the sour cream that I had was 1/3 less fat , 1/4 cup of butter + 1/2 cup of home made pear sauce which works much better than apple sauce , since I didn't like to use half an egg I used 2 eggs and addded 1/4 tsp cinnamon and chocolate chip for the kids . it's my favorite recipe for now

Fabulous Fudge Chocolate Cake

i'm very disappointed after all this work and shopping for special ingredients that I don't regularly have in my kitchen like sour cream and unsweetened chocolate. The only change I've made is using 2cups of sugar and doubled the chocolate , so even after I doubled the chocolate I felt like it's not very fudgy besides I baked it only for 30 mins and on oven temperature 325 and it was done . Any way it came out very dense and not very moist as I was excepting . i'm gonna stick to my recipe which calls for less ingredients and less effort and the result is way much better

Peanut Butter Cookies IX

I liked the cookies but they were't my favorite peanut butter oatmeal cookies , they taste much better the next day . the cookies were thick and crispy from outside chewy from inside , I used less sugar 1/2 cup each and I think that was enough . the reason I gave it 4 stars because I like large cookies and they came a little bit crumbly but I think for smaller size I would't have this problem

I'm from the middle east and I love Umm Ali , but this was my first time to make it and it was ok I think I'm going to use less milk next time may be 4 cups . my mom used to make it with Phyllo dough which I like more than the puff pastry .
