Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2014
I used 1/4 cup of melted butter and 1/4 cup applesauce. Reduced sugar to 3/4 cup, used buttermilk in place of sour cream(didn't have any). Mashed the bananas and added 1 tsp of cinnamon. Came out very moist and delicious.

Eggless Eggnog

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2013
I love store bought eggnog. I tried homemade eggnog and feel it's too egg-y. Came across a similar recipe, like this on Pinterest. I used white chocolate pudding mix, with 4 cups 1/2% milk and 2 cups 2%. Didn't use rum extract. Added 1/3 cup sugar and a few sprinkles of nutmeg and cinnamon. Came out good. Will make again.

Josephine's No-Bake Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2013
I only used the first 6 ingredients. I actually used some southern style-Delta Cane flavor syrup(found in pantry, and needed to use up). I also chopped up about 1 cup of roasted almonds. These bars came out so good! Exactly what I was looking for and had the taste for. Great no-bake granola bar!

Caramel Graham Crackers

Reviewed: May 24, 2013
Extremely easy and so good! I made a small batch, in a 10x7 pan. The pan held 4 whole sheets of graham crackers. Only, used 4 Tbl butter and 4 Tbl brown sugar. Then baked for 5-7 minutes until it was all bubbly(make sure to check on it, so it won't burn). Then used 2 hershey bars on top and spread evenly. Sprinkled with toffee bits. Would be great to take to a party or special event.

The Best Doggy Biscuits!

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
I just added a small packet of wet dog food(meat chunks) into the mix. If it needed more flour just add a little bit. The dogs liked them. Very easy to make. I used a plastic shot glass to cut out little rounds and pricked with fork before baking.

Linnie's Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
I used chicken broth instead of water and 1 cup of spagetti sauce (all we had in the house), instead of salsa. Very tasty and fast to make. Will make again.

Cream Cheese Cut-Outs II

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2012
The dough was nice and fluffy. Easy to work with when chilled. These are not sweet cookies, and I would roll them out a little thicker. Good way to use up cream cheese. I used Sugar Cookie Icing, By: JBS Box, from this site.

I used 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup vinegar and 2 TBL oil, plus salt and pepper. Just whisked them together and poured over a pre-shredded cabbage mix. Very good, it has a sweet tangy flavor. We love it!

Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2012
This was so easy to make! Just a few ingredients and a delcious gravy! I made, "Teena's overnight buttermilk biscuits" from this site to go with the gravy! Yummy! I had a roll of sausage and just used 1/4 of it cooked. While cooking the sausage in a pan, I also had a small saucepan with the milk and flour on low heat cooking and thickened. Once the sausage was done, I dumped it into the thickened milk and added salt and pepper. Will be making again! Thanks!

Chocolate Nut Biscotti

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
So easy to make and taste yummy! Oh, be sure to flatten out the logs. You want them to be wide, so they come out long when you cut them diagonally. I used half white wheat flour and just chopped up some crunch candies we had in the house- instead of the 4ounce bittersweet chocolate and left out the nuts. Will make again!

Homemade Bagels

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
I just can't get the boiling part down. They come out a little gummy. Maybe, I will try again. I just used an egg wash and skipped the boiling part for now. They didn't come out like a bagel, more like a mix between bagel and english muffin. Still good, but that step is crucial for bagels.

Excellent muffin! I made half the recipe and was able to get 10 muffins. I used canola oil instead of olive oil, and fresh pumpkin. I also substituted 1/2 cup of white wheat flour. They look gorgeous! :)

Easy Homemade Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2012
Easy to work with and so easy make in food processor. I used 1 cup white wheat and 1 1/2 cups AP flour. Other than that, I followed exactly and was happy with the results. Waiting for pie to cool to do the taste test! The crust was soo good! I had compliments on the crust and the entire pie! This is my crust recipe from now on, and the apple pie! I used Chef Jon's Classic American Apple Pie from his site Food Wishes. http://foodwishes.blogspot.com/2009/11/classic-american-apple-pie-warning-this.html
