I'm a 50+ year old mom and grandmother. I just recently moved back to the small town I grew up in. I have lived in CA and NC before coming home. I love allrecipies.com and stop by the site on a daily basis. Thank you to everyone submitting recipes - it has reduced my adding to my cookbook collection - my husband likes that!

When I was in grade school I made a rum cake for a former teacher who had moved to the house behind ours. As I was taking the cake to her house, I tripped on our driveway and the cake flew! I was soooo upset!

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies
After making tons of pumpkin puree today, I thought I would try the Pumpkin Whoopie Pies. OMG, I am so glad I did! On recommendation from other reviewers, I did let the batter sit for 10 minutes, but I think I will go a little longer next time. This did help the cookies not spread as much. I also used a cookie scoop. I did not grease the baking sheets on the first batch of cookies. They were a little harder to get off than the sprayed pans. The first batch had rounded sides, but I noticed that additional batches had a little crispier edge. I really think next time I will let the pans cool much more between batches. My husband, who loves sweets, said he will only be able to each one of these per day! I didn't have enough filling for the amount of cookies I had, but the cookies by themselves are great also! My grandson will love these!!! Thanks for the recipe.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies
These cookies are the best! When I decided to make them for the hubby for Dad's Day, it was a little late in the day, so I really didn't have time to chill in the frig for 2 hours, so I put the dough in the freezer for about an hour, as well as between making batches. It seemed to work out fine. I used my cookie scoop to make the walnut size balls. I did have to resort to using sugar on the fork to press down the cookies, as the dough was still a little sticky. I took others advise an undercooked them just a bit and let them sit on the cookie sheet for a minimum of 3 minutes before transfering. Everyone LOVED these cookies!!! Thanks Kevin

Bread and Butter Pickles II
This was my first attempt at making B & B pickles and they turned out great! I sliced up a hot pepper and added to each jar. As suggested, I covered the cucumbers with ice. I wanted to make enought pickles to last us quite a while, so I processed the jars in a hot water bath for 10 minutes. Thanks, David, for the great recipe!
