Savory Crescent Bites

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2008
I was not really pleased with this recipe. It not taste bad, however it was not good. It did have a nice presentation however. I would imagine if you made this for a group of people you would have no complaints, but no leftovers, because once they get cold they do not taste good at all. *note: I did not alter this recipe at all in any way.

Was ok. Not great, but not bad. Kids ate it, and so did the wife and I, however we wont be making it again.

Nana's Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Ok, everyone reading this, I want you to go into your cupboard and throw away any BBQ Sauce recipe you have. This is THE one! Do not alter it, you dont need to. I no longer purchase BBQ Sauce, one taste of this and you will never want to. DELICIOUS!!! Note: I make this ALL the time.. Most notably with my signature pulled pork. Have not had one person not like it yet.

Light 'n' Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Good and creamy potatoes. Kids ate them all up. Not good enough to eat without gravy, though

Malibu Bay Breeze

Good drink! My wife is VERY picky when it comes to drinks, and when I made this she loved it! Heck, she even called her mom to tell her about it and had the neighbor take a taste. I thought it was good, but not wowed by it. Then again, I'm just the husband..... :)

Clams Kokkinisto

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This was absolutely amazing! Everything about this recipe was awesome, from preparation to eating the leftovers the next day! This is definitely easy to prepare, and was fun to make with the kids. The aroma throughout the house was spell bounding and the taste is wonderful. For me it bought back memories of when I was visiting my family in Corfu and is the perfect comfort food. I added the extra clams, not because of just what the other reviewers suggested, but because I love clams as well. I also sprinkled a little feta cheese on top and man oh man, everyones plates were clean. I HIGHLY suggest this recipe and will be making it over and over again.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
GREAT RECIPE!! I didnt cut the butter because the dry ingredients didnt "crumble" and stick together. Turned out AMAZING. My mother in law is probably going to be mad at me when she finds out my wife loves this version better than hers.

Spicy Hot Chicken Legs

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
This was great for our 16 pack of chicken legs my wife purchased on a bargain buy. I made this for the Superbowl and I was only able to eat 1! Everyone licked them right up and had their plate polished. I didnt want to just have "boiled chicken" so I first fried the legs in a little bit of oil, then slow cooked them, then threw them in the oven for 20 minutes, then back into the crockpot when ready to be served. Perfect texture, NO meat was left on the bone and tasted great. Everyone enjoyed how they tasted like chicken wings in a way, but they were actually able to get a bite full of meat instead of chewing it off of the bone and getting in their teeth. Good recipe, very easy, and not that spicy.

Fat Boy Nacho Cheese Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
Great stuff! I made this for the Superbowl and it it was a hit. I will admit it was good, but not GREAT. The reason behind this is I feel it is lacking something, but couldn't place it. Everyone else said it was excellent and better than any kind of nacho dip they had before. The only problems I ran into was that first the velvetta cheese was VERY thick and needed to be melted quickly (please take into account if this is your first time making this the cheese will initially need about an hour or so to melt where you can mix everything else into it) I wound up throwing my crock pot ceramic into the microwave for a few minutes to melt the cheese. After I got everything mixed together make sure you watch that crock pot!! I found out that "low" on my crockpot was boiling the cheese on the edge scalding it. I then had to constantly turn the pot on and off and on and off. I am not sure if this is just how my crockpot is or not, but just be forewarned. Another hint I suggest is have everyone scoop their own from the crockpot with plastic spoons because if you reuse the same spoon the cheese cools and hardens and looks kind of gross and turns people away from scooping it on their plate. Other than that, great recipe and I will be making it again, this time with a crockpot liner because dried baked cheese it not fun to clean.

T Bird's Beef Jerky

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I tried 3 different jerky recipes and this is the one. I make a lot of jerky now because every time I make a batch, it disappears within a day or two. My friends rant and rave about my jerky now and its all thanks to this recipe! I followed it exactly with the exception that I added a little bit of liquid smoke. Unfortunately it came out too salty for my taste (it was still delicious but just too salty). To change that I reduced the soy sauce to 1/2 cup and increased the Worcestershire sauce to 1 1/2 cups. Tastes absolutely perfect! If you want a decent recipe without strange weird ingredients that tastes awesome this is the one.
