Easy Iced Coffee

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2009
OMG!! LOVE IT!!! I LOVE coffee, but can't drink it due to my religion. So to avoid the temptation I can now make this but with Postum instead of with coffee... just tried it, and it's perfect! Delicious taste... everything I loved about the iced lattes and coffees from Starbucks... my hubby is grateful as well... will save almost $4 a day now that I can make it at home! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
These cookies were just OK. I followed the recipe exactly and I find these cookies a little dry and bland. I'm thinking if I do make these again, I might try to use the Honey Roasted crunchy peanut butter instead of the plain peanut butter to give it more flavor.

Sushi Roll

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
this was... ok. I LOVE sushi but the rice was too sweet. And authentically, you don't put pickled ginger INSIDE the sushi... and! NO on the dipping it in teriyaki sauce and wasabi... gotta be soy sauce and wasabi. Nice attempt though.

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes and Asparagus

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
After my own modifications, this has earned 5 stars! I personally thought it needed a bit more color and flavor so I added 1 small onion chopped and 1 red bell pepper cut into chunks. I also thought after reading the recipe that the spices it was asking for was WAY too much, so I halved all the spices. Even my husband liked it, and he doesn't like onions or red bell peppers... he went in for 2nds!! Thank you for sharing your recipe :-).

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2008
wow, it's rare that I like meat loaf... the only other ones I like is my dad's and mother in law's. After making changes to this to fit my tastes, this is now my fav! Even my husband claimed it as his fav and that it beats his mom's recipes, and her's is pretty dang good! What I did: I used about 2 lbs ground beef, I didn't have any eggs so I just added a bit more milk, used seasoned bread crumbs instead of crackers, added 1 1/2 tsp garlic, didn't have onions so used onion soup mix, and as far as the glaze... I mixed the ketchup and brown sugar together and also added 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce and about 1/4 cup medium salsa; I then spread about 1/3 of the glaze on the bottom, let the loaf bake for about 35 minutes, then spread the rest of the glaze ontop of the loaf, and then let it bake for another 35 minutes... PERFECT!! Goes WONDERFULLY with the roasted red potatoes and asparagus side dish also found on this website.

Absolute Best Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
was pretty good! Will definitely stay in my recipe box. It was, however, a little too sweet for me, perhaps a bit too much vanilla. So will be playing with this a bit more. My family loved it!

Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
LOVE THESE PANCAKES!!! My husband begged me to add this to my recipe box. He was kinda skeptical at first cause of the pumpkin added to the pancake batter, but first taste and he changed his mind... even our son loved these. A great way to get our son to eat another veggie! I topped these pancakes with the "absolute best pancake syrup" also found on this site... was a great hit with the entire family! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!

No Bake Pumpkin Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
DELICIOUS!! I think I'll be making this pumpkin pie from now on. It's easy and quick and tastes pretty close to the baked pumpkin pie! Lots of flavor which was always my issue when trying other recipes... I LOVE spices, so this was perfectly spiced! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS WITH US!!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
My family LOVED this dish!!! This year (2008) was my first time ever to make Thanksgiving dinner and this was a hit! Was gone before dinner was over! haha. I ran out of time so ended up boiling them instead of baking them as other reviewers recommended... and I didn't blend the sweet potato mixture in a blender or processor... I just mashed it all up together and then baked it. It was delicious!! My mother begged me for this recipe and it is now part of her recipe collection haha. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!

Miracle Green Bean Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
WONDERFUL!!! This year (2008) was my first time making Thanksgiving dinner, and this is a permanent side dish! I added a few dashes of cayenne pepper to give it a little kick. My family LOVED this dish!! It was gone before dinner was over, and I doubled the recipe! My mom begged me for the recipe and plans on making it herself and not just for the holidays... THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS RECIPE!!

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
OMG!!! This year (2008) was my first time making Thanksgiving dinner ever and I have found my turkey recipe!! On the bottom of the roaster before placing the turkey into the roasting pan I layered the bottom with whole carrots, celery, and put a quarter of one onion in each corner of the pan. Gave the turkey a little more flavor along with the left over juice (which I only had to use the 2 cups for the entire time of roasting it!) and the veggies were nice and soft and had great flavor... a nice little side to go along with the turkey! My family RAVED about it and told me to make this from now on whenever it was my turn. I also recommend injecting the juice into the turkey every hour or so... made the meat very juice and moist... never had a turkey so moist!! Even the white meat didn't need gravy! THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS!!!

Miso Soup I

Reviewed: May 20, 2008
it's not bad... not the traditional Japanese miso soup though, I must say. Normally you don't put spinach in the soup... it's traditionally nori (seaweed). But, like I said, not bad. Sorry, not trying to be too critical... being part Japanese and after working at a Japanese restaurant for 6 years, I'm pretty picky about how Japanese food is put together, haha, sorry.

Yakisoba Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
Not bad. However, being part Japanese and growing up eating the authentic Japanese food, it is not the traditional authentic recipe. And just a note after reading one of the other reviews, not trying to criticise: tonkatsu sause is not yakisoba sauce, it is a completely different sauce for a completely different dish, so you will not get the traditional yakisoba flavor, but kudos for trying the tonkatsu sauce! Not many people know what that is at all.
