Tex'n Melt'm

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2014
This was easy to make and just the snack my husband wanted. I used less cheese and stirred everything together so it was evenly distributed. Then heated in the microwave. Fast and easy!

Ham Breakfast Braid

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
This was a lot of work for a breakfast that wasn't all that special. My husband didn't think it was very flavorful. He couldn't taste the cream cheese at all.

Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2014
The peanut butter one are superb but the coconut ones are too sweet. Maybe unsweetened coconut would have been better in this recipe. I used a slab of dark chocolate candy making chocolate instead od the chips and will definitely be making these again!

Bird's Nests

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2014
These are so delicious! Only thing I did different was use big slabs of candy making dark chocolate instead of chips. I love the crunch and would have liked more coconut. I'll add more next time. Will be making these next Easter for sure!

Veal Forestiere

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2014
My family loved this meal. I served it over rice with caramelized Brussels sprouts. I had veal stew meat so I just cut it into smaller pieces. I used a sweet red wine since I didn't have Marsala, regular mushrooms, and a combo of chicken and beef bouillon mixed into the artichoke juice for the veal stock. It smelled wonderful while cooking!

Creamy Ice Coffee

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2014
When my mom was here for a visit, I finally decided to make this recipe. I cut it down to 2 servings (just in case we didn't like it). It was very easy to make and tasted great; so creamy and good! The only difference is that I used Almond Joy creamer instead of half-n-half. Delish! Today it was just me so I adjusted the recipe for 1 serving and I don't know what happened since I used all the same ingredients, but it just wasn't as good. I sure will be making it again though. Made it again with the Almond Joy creamer, with almond extract instead of vanilla. And I figured out when I use this, it doesn't need the added sugar. YUM!

Slow Cooker Scalloped Potatoes with Ham

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2014
This was very good for an easy recipe but it would have been better with added spices (maybe minced garlic and paprika?)I started it off on high and my potatoes started to burn at the sides of the crockpot. I did use cooking spray before adding the ingredients but it helped only on the bottom. I used water as stated but later when everything started getting too thick and dry, I added a little milk. Also, I didn't add the ham and cheese at the start. I waited until about an hour before serving to add the ham, then a little later, slices of sharp cheddar cheese (I was in too much of a hurry to grate it). I read so many reviews where the cheese got lost in the mix so though this way would be better. I let it melt a bit, then stirred gently. This cheese was very yummy in it. I think it helped that I used sharp cheese since I didn't even put the 1 cup the recipe called for.

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Absolutely wonderful! So smooth and fluffy and delicious! Everyone loves this cake. It baked up beautifully in the times and temp in the recipe. No water bath needed and no cracks in the cheesecake. Thank you for this one, Dawn!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
Delicious combination of flavors! We love these! I followed the temp and time and it was perfect. I put the pecans on before baking and it made it so easy when they came out to just press each one. I prefer making these with the little square pretzels but didn't have them this time and they still turned out fine with not hardly any chocolate leaking through the bottom.

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2013
I used a different recipe from this site to make the pumpkin puree, then used this one to make the pies. This crust is very easy and makes plenty of dough for two crusts. The filling is delicious; everyone loved it. My only complaint is that even using my shallowest pie plates, they were not quite full (as you can see in the photos). They also turned out speckled from the spices. I've never had that happen before! If I make it again, I'll try adding more pumpkin. Update, I used a ready made crust and my deep dish this time and the filling amount is perfect for this size! You get only one pie though.

Pollo Mediterranean

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2013
We enjoyed this dish but everyone thought it needed something. The only changes I did was, skipped the olives since I didn't have any, used boneless skinless chicken breats, and used parsley from a spice jar instead of fresh. It would have tasted better with mushrooms and onions in it. We had it over penne pasta. I made a whole 16oz. box and there was plenty of sauce without making extra. I'll probably make this again with some added ingredients.

Melt-in-Your-Mouth Broiled Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
This recipe was just OK. The sauce was too thin and didn't stay on the salmon. The salmon was dry and I didn't think the flavor was that good. I've made the Grilled Marinated Salmon from this site and we LOVE that one. I won't be wasting my ingredients on this recipe again.

Garlic Mashed Cauliflower

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
My family is not crazy about mashed cauliflower. I love it but this recipe wasn't the greatest. I made it as written, tasted, then added garlic powder for more garlic flavor and 2 T. butter. I don't have a food processor so just used the potato masher (which doesn't give it a smooth consistency).

Easy Shake and Bake Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2013
I read a bunch of reviews so just brushed my chicken and pan with olive oil as some others did. The chicken stuck to the pan and was dry and overcooked. If I make this again, I will use the butter.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2013
Yum! My whole family loves this recipe. I made it again tonight with 3 pounds of Swai fillets and it was still plenty enough sauce for all of the fish without changing the ingredient amounts. After making several times, I now use a little less mayo (I don't measure it, just guess), use sea salt instead of celery salt(don't have any) and leave out the pepper (don't like) and get rave reviews every time I make it!

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2013
I've made this a few times now, as written except using half and half instead of heavy cream. My family loves the taste but the sauce is pretty thin. Maybe it is because I didn't use cream or maybe because I didn't drain the tomatoes? Anyway it makes a ton of sauce for 16 oz. of pasta and I always forget that. I usually end up cooking more pasta to use up the leftover sauce. Tonight I added mushrooms. Mmmm
