Famous Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I gave this 3 stars because it was not crunchy at all. It may have needed to be cooked appr. 30-45 minutes longer than recommended, because it came out very "wet". Although adding this cooking time may cause the pork chops to dry out. Next time I would probably melt the butter and drizzle it over the pork chops, that may help to make it come out a bit more crunchy with the recommended cooking time.

Green Beans With Walnuts

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
Found this to be bland. Served this at a large family meal to mixed reviews. Used olive oil because I couldn't find the walnut oil. May have made a difference.

Pork Chops with Sour Cream and Mushroom Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
Made this last night and went over very well. Followed many of the suggestions (ie: onions, can of mushrooms and wine) which made the meal wonderful. Will make again soon.

Cheddar Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
As a family we enjoyed this dish. I used 4 chicken breast and halfed everything else, and it was plenty to coat all (with the exception of the butter, which I used all recommended in the recipe to spread over the chicken breast, which worked out well). I would highly recommend this recipe.

Lap Salad

Reviewed: May 31, 2008
Yummy! Loved this! The changes I made were as following: Used seseme oil instead of actual seseme seeds (didn't have them). Toasted almonds and broke up ramen noodles which I added when I served (don't like them mushy). Did not use chicken because I used it as a side dish instead of main entree. Very very good!

Garlic-Buttered Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Loved these! Gave them 4 stars only because I did not follow the recipe as stated. Instead, I did as others, and used fresh onions and garlic and sauteed the mushrooms, used "steam fresh" green beans made in microwave, mixed together and served. Got rave reviews from all. Made this way I give it a 5 star rating.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2008
This was great! As someone who is not a big fan of BBQ I specifically made this to feed to my family and not myself. After tasting it I became a fan! My husband said it is better than well known restaurants in our city.

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
We tried this tonight. The good part about this recipe is it is easy and quick to make. The negative is the taste was pretty bland. I did lower the amount of soy sauce (as per other reviews, to 1/3 cup to lessen the salt taste) and added 1 Tbs of garlic. I also thickened the sauce on the stove (which I highly recommend). Next time I think I may add some orange juice to give it a bit more to the flavor (something similar to an orange chicken recipe). I think with a bit more added to the recipe it could be a family favorite.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
Oh my goodness these are soooooo good! I followed the recipe exactly as stated and they turned out perfect. I made them for a party tomorrow, but am afraid I might eat them all before I get them there! Thanks for a great recipe! Note: These got rave reviews at the party! Just like me people could not stop eating them! Will be making these on a regular basis!

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
Yummy! Very good! I made a full loaf, 2 mini loaves, and 6 full size muffins from this batch. The only change is the time for each different one. The full loaf took appr. 65 minutes, the mini loaves appr 50 minutes and the muffins appr. 30 minutes. Highly recommend.

Very good pork chops! So very tender! Used very large pork chops from Costco which required the full time in the crock pot.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 26, 2010
Very good pork tenderloin. Loved the ease of cooking. Added an additional hour to cook time because I like my tenderloin well done. Worked well, and did not end up dry at all. Would recommend.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
These were really good. I minced up the onion (as per others reviews) which I really liked. I also took the foil off for the last 20 minutes and added bread crumbs. I used 3/4 cup sharp cheddar and 3/4 cup mild cheddar. Next time I will use all sharp cheddar to give a fuller flavor. Thank you for the recipe!

Slow-Cooked Steak Fajitas

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I really liked this recipe. My only complaint would be that the meat shrank so much! I used rotella instead of tomatoes and onions and also used abt a TBS of lime juice. Cooked at low for 5 hours on low (as per others suggestions) which was the perfect amount of time. Next time I may try Sirloin instead of Flank steak, which I feel may not "shrink" up as much in the long run.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2010
Addition 12/22/10: I did add an additional 1/4 to 1/2 cups more of the crushed pretzels for the crust. It helped to cover the 9x13 pan. One of my all time favorites! Great for potlucks...people always love it.
