Pesto

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2013
I use up the basil out of the garden and make 3 or 4 batches. I freeze it in ice cube trays, then pop them into a freezer bag. Usually 2 ice cubes is the perfect amount for a pasta dinner for 2!

Great! Easy! I used 1 3/4 cups sugar. Next time, a cup and a half. Also added a couple cloves of minced garlic, and a half a banana pepper diced.

Hot Pepper Mustard

My flour clumped really bad. I followed instructions. ???? It happened to my neighbor also. It was still really good. I love dipping hot soft pretzels into it.

Gingersnap Pear Tart

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
I made very few changes to this recipe, I just added a squeeze of lemon juice to the cream cheese mixture. If your pears are not soft ripe. Peal and slice them, and saute in butter for a few minutes til soft.

Kipfels

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
These are my favorite cookies! When making them, I roll the dough out into a circle, and cut it like a pizza! I usually get 6 or 8 triangles of dough with each circle.

Hungarian Stuffed Yellow Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2010
These were great! Iadded a little italian seasoning and garlic to the filling. I also cut my peppers in half length wise. They cook faster, and sometimes a huge stuffed pepper on your plates is just too much. They cook faster also! I also cooked mine in the oven at 375 for about an hour.

This is really good. If you want to kick it up a notch, use rice vinegar and large grate a carrot with the cucumbers. Nummy!

Slow Cooker Apple Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
I thought the butter turned out really good. BUT! I only used 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and NO white sugar at all. I also used a natuarlly sweet apple- Matsu. I also left the lid off the slow cooker the last 2 1/2 hours of cooking, so it would thicken more. I just finished making it yesterday, it usually gets better when it sits for a week or 2(I canned it.)

Easy Apple Coleslaw

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2009
I gotta say, I am not a big cole slaw fan. BUT! This is really good! I did change a few things. On the apples I grated half and chopped half of each apple. Thought it would be too chunky. And I did not have any lemons in, so used a splash of apple cider vinegar. This was really good! I also used the last fresh cabbage out of garden, which does not hurt! ;)

Concord Grape Jelly

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I just picked all the grapes off my grape vine, and made juice from all them. Then made batches of jelly using 3 to 4 cups of juice. You can cut the sugar down. Be sure to buy the pectin for low/no sugar recipes!
