Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2012
We just used this yesterday to decorate some sugar cookies to give out as gifts. It is very sweet so use it sparingly as other users have said. Not the kind of icing to coat an entire cookie, but tastes great piped around edges and such.

Vegetarian Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
I had to make some changes to this as I didn't have all the ingredients but it came out sooo good. I used a whole fresh red pepper, one large onion and cooked them in the garlic. Added the cumin and some black pepper. Then I added 1 can crushed tomatoes, 1 can mexican seasoned tomatoes, 2 cans water with some bullion. I also added 4 dashes of Tapatilo, a can of black beans, and a can of kidney beans. Very easy to add on and make subsitutions.

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: May 6, 2012
This was great! I used another reviewers suggestion to use only 2 tablespoons sugar and it turned out perfectly. Very very simple and easy to make. I wish I would have tried this recipe for my first bread making experience.

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
This was great. My first time making home made icing and everyone loved it. I did only use 1 cup of sugar though as I like my icing a little on the tangy side. Only one person thought it should have been sweeter. Thanks for making my Valentines Day treats a hit!

Garlic Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This was a great soup! I wanted this vegetarian so I used vegetable broth and added more vegetables like other reviewers. I added 1/2 large onion, and a leek. The only tomatoes we had were Italian stewed tomatoes which made the soup taste a lot like minestrone. My DH and our room mate loved it. This was also very easy to make. Next time I might add more liquid to accommodate the extra veggies and add the cabbage later on to keep it crispy.

French Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2011
This was my first adventure into yeasted bread and I'm so glad I picked this recipe! I don't have a bread machine so I made it by hand and popped it into the oven. Even though I kind of popped them after the second rise the loaves still came out good. Next time I'll just be careful next time when I put the scores across the top.

White Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
These were really great cookies! I was craving something sweet and stumbled across this very easy recipe. I didn't have any vanilla extract or baking powder and they still came out fantastic. I was also a little worried about the dough being so crumbly, but they come out fine when you squish the dough in your hands. Will definitely make these again!

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
I've never made gravy from scratch before so I was delighted that it was an easy recipe to follow. I took the advice of others about cooking the ingredients in steps and it came out very well. Next time I will probably put less bullion in it because it was a little too salty for my tastes, although it was perfect for my salt loving boyfriend. I also added a quarter teaspoon minced garlic, and pepper for flavor, as well as 1/4 cup of milk to make it a little richer.
