Strawberry Pie II
This Strawberry pie is the best!!! Regarding other comments: I always puree my strawberries in the blender or food processor; I never just mash them. (and I do use about a quart and a half) If you brush egg whites (mix with a little water) on your pie crust before baking it will help prevent a soggy crust and instead of pouring mixture over strawberries mix all in a large bowl and let it cool before adding to pie crust. Also, if the strawberry mixture is allowed to cook per the recipe it actually reduces the mixture and makes it much thicker than just cooking for a few minutes. (I do only use 1/2 cup water) I might add 1 drop of red food coloring while cooking but no more to get a redder color. Finally, I always make my own whipped topping using the whipping cream but I add confectioners sugar to mine after almost finished whipping (taste it) and never use out of season berries. This pie is always my big hit for Memorial Day and there is NEVER any left!

Chocolate Walnut Strudel
Very easy recipe, easy to make, I liked it just okay because I thought it was a bit too messy. If I try it again I will use less chocolate to see if that makes a difference.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies
Mixed the main ingredients and separated in half - one half I added cinnamon and walnuts and the other half I added pecans and choc. chips. Both were good but the cinnamon walnut version was the winner. These are excellent cookies and everyone loved them! Thanks for a great recipe!
