Pork Chops with Apples, Onions, and Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
I did this one in my slow cooker as well and it turned out great. I took advice from a few others and put the sweet potatoes on the bottom. I fried the onions and browned the pork chops in olive oil. I layered half the onions and apples (sliced thick) on the potatoes and sprinkled them with brown sugar and cinnimon. Then placed the pork chops and then the rest of the onions and apples sprinkled with more brown sugar/cinnimon. My house smelled like baked apple pie all afternoon. The pork chops were so tender they fell apart, and were very flavorful with the apples and onions. The sweet potatoes cooked down to almost nothing so I did have to make a rice side dish to have with it. But all in all it was a great dish and I will definatly try it again.

Italian Sausage and Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This was a fabulous meal. I didn't have fresh mushrooms so I just used canned, but I fried them up with onions in some olive oil and minced garlic first to give it some more flavor. I used one whole package of stove top stuffing and just water b/c I didn't have any chicken stock. It turned out great. My husband loved it and so did my kids. This one will definatly be a staple in my house. Thankyou!!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Made this for Super Bowl and it was a big success. I added about 1/4cup BBQ sauce after slicing the roast for the last hour of cooking just to give it that 'zip'. Will definately be making this one again. Thanks.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
This was a huge hit in my house. I only had a generic BBQ sauce and it still turned out great. I took the advice from others and pulled the chicken apart after 3 hours and let it cook for another hour after that. It was perfect!! We had it over rice and steamed veggies. Wonderful, thankyou!!

Fiesta Stuffed Peppers

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
I wish I remember what it was I did the first time I made this, it was amazing. The second time it was still great but didn't have as much flavor. You definately need to use red, orange and yellow peppers...no green. They just don't have enough flavor. My daughter (4yrs) didn't like the crunchy rice on top so I sprinkled more cheese on hers which kept the rice more moist.

Baked Omelet Squares

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
I've made this a couple of times now. Great way to use left over meat. We've done ham, sausage, roast beef, bacon...all great. I use whatever veggies and cheese go with whichever meat I'm using. It's fabulous and a dinner staple in our house. Thanks for sharing :))

Pork Chops to Live For

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
I read a lot of the reviews before trying this one out and came out with the perfect dish. Trip fat off chops. Dip into flour then brown both sides in olive oil and place in bottom of slow cooker. Saute sliced onions and fresh mushroom and place over chops. Mix 2 cans mushroom soup, 1 can milk, and 1 package onion soup mix in the pan and mix well getting all the bits from the chops into the gravy. Pour over chops and cook on high for 4-5 hours. I used 6 boneless chops and this was a great amount of gravy. Served over rice of mashed potatoes...it's a keeper. Thanks for sharing all your reviews on this one.

Layered sliced onions and mushroom around the roast. Mixed one can mushroom soup with one can beef broth and poured over everything. cooked on high for 6 hours and it was amazing.

Hamburger Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2008
This was a nice change to chili. I followed the recipe almost exact, leaving out the white sugar as others suggested. Didn't have pinto beans so I used kidney and used a smokey 3 bean blend instead of pork and beans. Cooked in the slowcooker on high 1 hour and then low for 3 hours. I served it over baked potaoes and it was great. The kids and hubby really liked it and I will make it again.

Cashew Avocado Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This was a huge hit in my house. I made it on Sunday for sandwiches throughout the week. I added a little lime juice so the avocados wouldn't turn brown. I crumbled the bacon right into the salad. For the chicken I through about 5 breasts into the slowcooker with some stock for 3-4 hours and then it shredded beautifully and had more flavor. Only thing I'll do different is to use unsalted cashews. Thanks for the recipie :)

Butternut Squash Soup II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
I was so suprised how easy this soup was to make. I took others recommendations and baked the squash... so much easier!! I think next time I will make it in the morning, b/c trying to puree HOT soup in my blender... well, I wore some of it! I only gave 4 stars b/c my kids loved it, but I felt it needed "something". I have no idea what.

Delicious Stuffed Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
So good!! I used ground round instead of beef and it turned out great. Both my kids LOVED it. My husband found the filling to be alittle bland so I will definately play around with this recipe but adding different spices to the 'meat' and potatoes. I did put cheese in with the 'meat' like others suggested. It's a keeper. Thanks for sharing!!

Chicken and Stuffing Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
I was very happy with this recipe, although I made some unplanned changes. Due to some poor planning, I used frozen ckn breasts, frozen veggies and the rest of the ingredients. I put them in my slowcooker on high for about 5 1/2 hours and it was fantastic. Can out more like a stew so next time I make it I'll put cubed potateos in as well. Not the healthiest meal, but will definately be making again!!
