About this Cook
I'm 36 years old and I love to cook and eat! Since I was young, I was introduced to healthy eating. My family loves to eat and we always make sure that every Sunday is celebrated not just a family day but eating our hearts out day. You might think we're all fat...not really! I started cooking when I was in college when I lived in an apartment with my friends - we have to eat you know... I would say that's how my passion for cooking started. I also tried baking but can't say I got good at it. Still trying though, but I would love to learn. My husband is a picky eater. I always have to cook two different meals for both of us. But he said he likes what I cook for him. We have two kids - a boy and a girl. I think my son got his appetite from his dad.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are mostly Filipino (pork, chicken and beef). I also love cooking vegetables and fish. We have this family dish called Sputnik that I love so much. I would also say one of my favorites is cooking Pork Adobo. I also cook spaghetti and lasagna all the time for my husband who is a picky eater.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I would say the things I learned about our cooking tradition is the best way to make your meal good is not to leave your kitchen while cooking and stirring all the time. At least that's what my grandmother taught me. She's a good cook and I remembered watching her cook when I was young. Also, make sure that all the ingredients are present and prepared, cut, chopped or sliced. Having complete ingredients make a big difference. I also prefer minced garlic rather than chopped, chopped onion most of the time. I noticed that it makes a big difference. I use lots of garlic and onions, even if they're not called for.
My cooking tragedies
I tried baking bread one time and it turned out hard as a rock. Never tried it again.
