Chef John's Sloppy Joes

This is so good. I followed the recipe exactly and it made 10 sandwiches. My son said they were the best sloppy joes he ever had. At first it seems theres too much water in the recipe, but after 40 minutes of simmering, it all boiled down and it was perfect consistancy. Definitely going to make these again and I wouldnt change anything.

Salisbury Steak

I made no changes to this recipe. I did make a second batch of gravy after the first batch because we like alot of gravy. I thought this was good, not mind blowing but still good and I will definitely be making this for dinner reguarly especially because it's so simple.

Easy Pizza Sauce I

This is a good sauce. Very simple too. I added a pinch of sugar because I like a sweeter sauce. Make sure to let all the spices steep for a couple hours or you can simmer it on the stove.

Pizza Dough III

I thought this was a good easy recipe. I let the bread rise for an hour, that was the only change I made. If you find the flavor lacking, all you have to do is add some of your favorite seasonings to it. I think I might do that next time, but either way this is a good basic pizza dough recipe.

Tuna Patties with Dill Sauce

Very good and easy to make. I made them for lunch with a salad and rice. I didnt have any parsnips so I had to omit them, but this was still great anyway. I will definitely be making these again.

Grilled Portobello Mushrooms

For the first time having a portobello mushroom, I thought this was really good. I originally had it on a sandwich like a burger, but I didnt like that so I just had it with the lettuce and onion and it was good like that.

Chicken Chimi in the Oven

I made this exactly as the recipe is supposed to be and while the whole basting with oil and baking idea was great and worked out well, for me and my family the cinnamon and chili powder was too much. I dont think Ill ever make these again, but if I did I would use 1/2 the amount of chili powder and very little cinnamon, if any.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

I made this exactly as written and it was very good. My family loved it and I will definitely be making it again. For me it was not bland, it was just that the flavors of the ingredients were subtle, with the mushrooms standing out with the most flavor. If you like alot of flavor, I think that adding some shredded cheese and/or bacon on top would be really good. And definitely have some hot, crusty bread with this soup for dipping!

Spanish Rice Bake

Although I love the flavors of this dish alone, for me it got better when I wrapped it all up and made burritos with it. Some salsa on top and these were seriously good! I will definitely be making this again!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

This was awesome, I cant wait to make it again. I used regular ground beef, not lean and I put extra ketchup and brown sugar on the bottom. Mix it and then taste it so you know if its too sweet. This is a gooooooood recipe!

World's Best Lasagna

Really good! I used a whole large onion, an extra half lb of ground beef, and a little extra tomato sauce and water, and it left me with enough sauce to make a whole another lasagna. Defintely use the fennel seeds, they add so much good flavor. I also boiled the noodles until soft but slightly firm and they softened in the oven. It came out perfect! Cant wait to make again!

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)

I love this and I make these often. The balsalmic vinegar adds to the flavor. I use cheddar cheese but that is the only change I made. Very good.

I doubled the recipe and it turned out to be too much milk. I felt the cheese was too much also. My family and I just did not like the flavor of the meat or the sauce.

Shepherd's Pie VI

My family loved this so much, I actually made this twice this week! The only things I changed was that since I used 1 1/2 lbs ground beef, I had to add a little more of broth, ketchup and onions. Also I added a tablespoon of worstershire sauce and that gave it a little kick.
