Parmesan Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2014
My husband quadrupled this recipe to make for a catered party, to be served with taco soup and a salad. It was so easy and yummy. We had lots of compliments on it. It sure beats buying an expensive bottle of the spice mixture, as you know what is in this one! He made the recipe as written. We didn't think it was too salty.

Baron's Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
The best cobbler ever! I didn't change a thing. It baked for 55 minutes and it was perfect. My husband picked the berries earlier in the day, from a wild patch in our yard, and had to scare away a bear who loved the berries too. We served it warm with whipped cream. Thanks, Baron!

Spicy Vegan Potato Curry

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2014
This was really yummy and easy to make for a Sunday lunch. I cut back on the spices, as my husband is not a spicy fan...But I should have gone full-bore with this! Next time I make it I will use all the spice called for...I used left-over baked potatoes so I skipped that step. I think I could add some other vegies next time, and serve it with rice. I minced up some leftover cilantro to garnish the top...Very good recipe. My friend made this recipe also, and he used squash cubes instead of the potatoes...He loved that variation too.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: May 28, 2014
Tried this tonight, and it was delish...I got it started in a pan, as directed, but put it in a baking dish to finish it in the oven...I used thighs, and cut the recipe in half! We will be making this again. My husband says it will be one of our "go-to" recipes. Even with my customization of this recipe, it is a keeper.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
This was so easy, and a perfect gluten-free dessert for a simple salad bar lunch....I followed the directions almost exactly. But I forgot to turn the cake out to finish cooling on a rack. So it was hard to get the first piece out! I think next time I make this, I will put a piece of waxed paper or parchment paper on the bottom of the pan, then grease and use the cocoa powder on top of the paper. My husband liked this cake so much, he is going to make enough of them to serve 100 people at a community New Year's Eve dinner! He is planning on dribbling carmel sauce on the plate, add the piece of cake, and put a dollop of whipped cream on top!

Panettone Bread Pudding with Spiced Orange Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
This was the best! Even though I had to punt on some of the ingredients. I used Amaretto instead of Grand Marnier, a bit short of nutmeg, so I added some of Penzey's cake seasoning. All the rest was the same. the recipe was easy to follow. And the sauce! I had all of my ingredients ready on the counter, and when we were finished with our meal, I put the sauce together, right in front of the guests. Again I substituted Amaretto and the cake spice for the required ingredients. Yummy! I will definitely be making this again!!!!

Cottage Cheese Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
This is wonderful as is...When I was a little girl, we had this salad all the time...I was surprised more people had never heard of it. I add garlic to mine, and salt and pepper.

Delicious Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
These were so easy and yummy! I used a can of cream soda instead of the Mountain Dew. We served it warm with whipped cream. They were eaten up so fast, the pan was still warm and they were GONE!

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
This is a great recipe...Instead of the 1/3 cup of oil, I substituted 1 mashed very ripe banana. We couldn't wait to taste it...It is a very basic, go-to recipe which we will use many times, I'm sure.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This recipe is wonderful. I used a bit more bananas, and old-fashioned oats instead of the quick cooking variety. I drizzled the vanilla frosting on top (from a can, heated in the microwave until liquidy) like photo 1 shows. I will be making these again.

Asparagus Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2011
This is absolutely the best recipe! I used a can of non-fat evaporated milk instead of the light cream. I didn't have the swiss cheese, but I did have a block of Dubliner Cheese from Costco...Other than that, I followed the recipe. Oh, after I brushed the egg white onto the bottom of the pie crust, I just threw the extra yolk into the other egg mixture. I didn't want to waste it! We will definitely be making this again!!!!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
These were great as-is, but I wanted to use up some leftover chopped peanuts. So I added 1 T. peanut butter to the liquids, and about 1/3 cup chopped peanuts to the dry ingredients. Then as I put the crumb topping on, I sprinkled what was left of my chopped peanuts on top of it! Voila'! I have Peanut-Butter Banana Crumb Muffins!

Blarney Stones

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2011
These the the best blarney stones we have had in years! The recipe is simple and just like we remember them when we had them 30 years ago in Montana. We didn't have enough salted peanuts for six cups, so we used some unsalted peanuts and mixed them with the salted. We will make the again for sure...and that's no blarney!

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2008
I made this for supper last night. I followed the recipe except I omitted the salt. My husband liked it so much he ate three steaks, a guest who popped in for supper had two, and I had one. So much for planned leftovers!!!! This is yummy and I will make it again, but maybe I'd better double it!!!!!
