Penne with Pink Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2008
Delicious sauce! I must warn though that this is WAY too much sauce for a pound of penne pasta! I froze more than half of it. I also used 1/2 cup of vodka (Not by choice-my husband drank it all!) and it was still wonderful!

Strawberry Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
Made this for my daughter's second birthday. We all enjoyed it and it was very simple to make. I just wish the flavor was better. I used "Cool Whip Frosting" off this site in between the layers.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
Very good soup, but the prep time is definitely not 20 minutes! I blanched the tomatoes in boiling water until the skins start to peel off a little bit and then throw them in ice water. I used three cheese tortellini.

Stuffed Chicken Valentino

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2008
This was OK-not as much flavor as I thought it would have, but easy enough to make and beautiful presentation. I think I will add more garlic next time.

Spiced Pot Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2008
This was soooo good and so easy to make. My two year old gobbled it up and so did we! The meat was very very tender. I used apple pear chutney and followed the recipe to a T. Definitely going into the rotation.

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
Ok, this is very good. However, I am giving it 4 stars because the prep and cooking time is WAY off. I'd like to know who can prepare this from start to finish in 30 minutes! Also, how do you cook the bacon? (I stuck mine in the microwave). The sauce takes a really long time, and I don't know if all that butter is needed. I was cursing myself for choosing this, but when I tasted it, I was quite impressed. My husband said this was the best pasta he's ever eaten. I would say that it's worth the effort. Just be weary of the cooking times!

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Very good. My two year old loved this. Next time I will probably quadruple the sauce as it doesn't make vey much.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
Delicious. The dijon mustard really gave it a wonderful, unique flavor. It did make a ton of sauce, and I don't know if that amount of butter is entirely necessary, but I ended up serving it over fettucine and it was excellent.

Greek Pasta

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
This was pretty good. Definitely needed the feta cheese. I also don't think it was entirely necessary to blanch the tomatoes.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
I still cannot believe how good this soup tastes versus the amount of time it takes! My memories of my mother making this was an all day process. I followed exactly except for some extra garlic (can't get enough of the stuff), and it was perfect.

Chicken Milano

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Very good. I did make some minor changes. I cut the chicken into strips before frying and I added a cup of white wine in addition to the heavy cream with a TB of corn starch (recommended in another review). It tasted wonderful and made the perfect amount of yummy sauce. Tastes better than you get in an Italian restaurant!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
Delicious and I don't even like meatloaf. I really wanted to try this recipe though after reading the reviews. My husband and I actually got in an argument, because he didn't want me to make it, but he loved it! Kept everything the same, but put the brown sugar and ketchup mixture on the top and bottom. Yummy!

Ricotta Gnocchi

REAL authentic Italian taste. I did not find this too cheesy, as some other reviewers did. I found the mozzarella made it perfect. It is also sooo simple to make.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
If I could give this recipe a 10, I would! My husband and I have been to many many steakhouses and had many many orders of filet mignon, but this tops them all. The sauce is to die for, so delicious. I would not change a thing in this recipe. It really is as good as everybody says it is!

Gingered Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
Tastes like it came straight out of a real Chinese restaurant, only fresher. I added some yellow onions and red peppers, and it was outstanding. So easy to make, although I did have to cook my meat for much longer than the recipe suggested.

Easy enough to make, just not what I expected. Did not care for this one and neither did my family. Will not make again.

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

My husband loved this. I thought it was ok. Not enough flavor for me. The pine nuts were delicious in this pasta. I would definitely not substitute any other type of nut. Will make this again.
