Slow Cooker Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
These were great IF you forget about the cornstarch and add a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce. Also, left out the soy sauce b/c we didn't have any but that was just less sodium anyway. I over cooked by an hour. Try not to. Falling off the bone is nice but too much is just too much.

Fried Empanadas

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
I should have expected that these would be so fatty when frying. There was just too much dough and it was so greasy. Next time I will bake, definitely. We could only eat one each. Besides this, you really need to add more fillings. We used spicy sausage, egg, red meat, cheese, onion, and mixed it up.

Bran Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
These were a hit at my office, home, and the boyfriend's office. I really like them too. :) Yay! The one thing I did different was up the cinnamon to a tablespoon. In the future for more moisture I may add a couple tablespoons of applesauce. To save some time, buy preshredded carrots. That's what takes the longest. Shredding the apples goes quickly.

Roast Beef with Coffee

This was kind of bland. Not a fan.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
I was told these were the best ginger cookies someone had ever eaten. I followed recipe to "T" except for substituting orange juice for water. These were a hit!

Birthday Bones

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2008
These are great. I subbed water for milk after reading that dogs are lactose intolerant. Also added a little molasses. Next time I'll be adding parsley. Cut thick, thicker than the recipe calls for and bake for 5-7 minutes. At 10 minutes mine were burning.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
This was fantastic. I made two changes: cut white potato amount in half and added sweet potatoes, added mushrooms. Boyfriend ate it for days. One suggestion would be to add some more pepper or something to spice it up a bit more. Goes well with brown rice or whole-wheat noodles. Yummy. :)

Chicken Enchilada Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Not really a fan of this. It was really runny after cooking. Maybe if more tortillas were added? Or maybe I didn't add enough chicken? Not sure but it just didn't move right if you know what I mean.

Chocolate Mint Candies Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
4 out of 5 b/c they just didn't knock my socks off. The tips were great: turn Andes down for a minute first, then flip over. But I do think the cookie needs an entire mint to cover the top. I guess I was hoping they'd look prettier.

Almond Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
These are fantastic. Used almond or amaretto extract instead of liquor. Toasted the almonds as everyone said. I've made these about 4 times now and everytime they go quickly. Place the three almonds on top for deco and presentation is complete.

Fresh Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Like another reviewer, my cake came out cooked on the edged, raw in the middle. I cooked using gas, glass 9X9, at 400 degrees. After flipping had to place back in oven and bake an additional 15 minutes. THEN it was a tasty treat. Have to admit, this is a new oven for me and I'm a beginner baker. Also, used canned pineapples and were just fine. Also placed cherries in the middle-very pretty.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Used milk instead of mayo. This was fairly good, much better after it had a chance to set. The consistency just wasn't what I expected but it tasted good.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Fantastic. Frozen berries are fine. Also substituted blackberries and worked great. Make sure you don't fill holes all the way to the top like the recipe says. The topping for these is awesome but like others have said, use brown sugar instead. Much yummier. :)

Hungarian Goulash I

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2008
Even after cooking for the stated amount of time, some meat was still tough. Perhaps this is best in crockpot.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2008
EASY! The first cookies I've ever made and got great reviews. Like others said, allow dough to refrigerate over night in order to cut shapes the next day. Add flavored crystals while baking for deco. These cookies aren't that sweet, which my family liked.
