Tasty Sesame Tilapia

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2012
This was really good and really easy. Will definitely make again. I put on chopped green onions about a minute before taking out of the oven.

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
Loved the flavors of this. I added a can of black beans (rinsed and drained) per others' recommendations. Served over rice with a dollop of sour cream and cheddar cheese on top. Yum.

Tim Perry's Soup (Creamy Curry Cauliflower and Broccoli Soup)

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
I am usually one of curry's biggest fans, but I do not think it worked in this dish. It was way too overpowering - wondering if just a smidge would have been better.

Scallop and Prosciutto Bites

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
These were ok, but made such a grease mess in my kitchen that I will not make them again.

Best of Everything Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2012
I didn't care for these. I had high expectations after reading the reviews, but was disappointed. I thought the kids would detest them, but two of my kids actually gobbled them down. The burgers could have used more salt. This was the first time I made veggie burgers and thought it was great to not worry about the raw meat, getting them to the right temp etc., so I will search for more recipes. Oh, I cooked these in the grill pan on the stove.

Pumpkin Black Bean Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2012
Very yummy. You wouldn't know there was pumpkin in there unless someone told you. I skipped the upfront blending and instead used my immersion blender for a bit right in the pot before adding the ham. Chopped the ham very finely, so the kids couldn't really eat around it. Stirred in some sour cream at the end and added a dollop on each bowl along with shredded cheddar.

Chocopeanutbanana Smoothie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2012
This is an awesome recipe! I'm only 10 years old and I made it for my brother, my sister, and my mom. The only problem was that it was too hot so we added 3 ice cubes to make it cooler. It definitely made it better. I will probably make this smoothie again!

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly and it was awesome! I served over waffles for my dad, my brother, and myself. I'm only ten and I pretty much did it myself, but my mom helped me with skinning the apples and a little bit with cutting them into the small pieces. I also think that the sauce tasted really good on waffles. I even think that it tasted better than maple syrup. It seems like this would taste good on ice cream and pancakes. I love the recipe! I will probably make this recipe again.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
Delish! Really good flavor. I chopped up the veggies really small so the kids couldn't really discern much of what was in there. Topped with chopped peanuts which the kids thought this was the best part -- it really added a nice crunch.

Grilled Chicken Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
These were pretty good. Though, I thought it was a little heavy on carrots, but that may be because I incorrectly estimated the quantity of baby carrots. Put them on a bun with the normal hamburger fixins and the kids gobbled them up without questioning what was inside the burgers. Hubby didn't care for them, but will make again due to how healthy they are. I did not have trouble with them staying together like others did -- cooked them in the grill pan. Used fresh meat and wonder if others that had them fall apart used frozen, thawed meat which always seems wetter to me. ??

Hamburger Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
I've made this many times. It is a good, simple staple recipe. I added some finely diced celery and a few tablespoons of canned jalepenos just because I had some that I needed to use up. The kick turned out nice. We always top with cheese and call it Cheeseburger soup.

Bats and Cobwebs

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
What a fun recipe! The kids ate so well, tying to see how many cobwebs appeared as they brought the fork to their mouth. It kept them eating to the last bite!! Might try with ground sausage next time.

Creamy Chipotle Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2011
Super yummy and very flavorful! I served this over rice for dinner, but I had extra leftover sauce that I put over grits the next morning for breakfast... OMG... Yumm-o! Next time I think I will serve over grits at dinner.

Latin-Inspired Spicy Cream Chicken Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2011
This was very delicious. I really liked the black bean and pinto bean combination. I wasn't sure about what she meant by the ground red chile pepper, which could be cayenne, but 2 teaspoons of that would probably be way too spicy. Instead I used 1 1/2 teas. of Chipotle Chile Powder which made it perfectly flavorful without being too spicy (though next time I may increase it). Other reviewers were right, this fills your crockpot to the brim! I wish I had used my larger crock for I had to leave out some of the corn (I used frozen) because it would have spilled over. Used frozen chicken breast right out of the freezer. First day I served with cheese and crushed chips and the second day (there's a tone here) I served over rice with a dollop of sour cream... so good both ways!

Fried Egg Sandwich

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2011
Surprisingly gross. Not sure how it could taste so bad when it was such a simple, straightforward recipe. I think the ketchup/mayo combo with the egg just doesn't mix well.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
This was surprisingly flavorful and much better than other similar recipes. I think that is due to addition of the cream of chicken and cream of mushroom soups. I omitted the onion and didn't miss it a bit. And I only used 3 cups of cheese which was plenty. Just used a Mexican blend.

Sour Cream Chicken Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
The nutmeg was not a good flavor and for whatever reason, mine took about 25 minutes longer to cook -- maybe due to using lowfat sour cream.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Delicious. All of my family likes spicy food and we loved it, however, most of my guests found it too spicy. My 10 year old thought it was the best dip EVER!
