This was good, but not the best ever, so I withheld a star. I think I added too much broth for I didn't read that it called for the smaller cans of broth and not the 15 ounce ones. I think cannellini beans would have tasted good in it. I didn't bother with all the separate sautéing steps, rather I just sautéed the sausage for about 5 minutes, then added the onions for 5 minutes, and lastly the bacon, before dumping it all the rest of the ingredients on top. This worked well for ease and for flavor; the only thing that didn't go so well is that the bacon didn't get crisp this way. I also didn't totally boil it as the recipe states. Instead I simmered on low with the lid on.
