I'm a novice cook and I made this before and it was only ok. It was a bit on the soggy side. But, I tried it again and this time it was awesome. The key for me was that I needed to make sure the bread was crispy before removing it from the pan. It would look golden brown as the recipe states, but it would be too soggy for me. Once I left it on the pan longer and tested the crispiness by touching it with a spatula, it was perfect! Perhaps that's what most people already do, but again, being a novice cook, I had to learn through trial and error.
