Chocolate Salami

This was very good and delicious, but I changed the recipe a little. I was a little confused with 2 cups cocoa that the recipe uses, so I used just one cup and it was perfect. I used Orange coconut cookies recipe from this site to substitute tea biscuits and I utilized all cookies. Then I used just about 1/2- 3/4 cup butter and no more. And I think the mixture was a little sticky even with this amount of butter. I added a little coconut flakes. Be sure to refrigerate the salami completely.

Sun-dried Tomato Butter

This is a good recipe, actually I would give 4,5 stars, because it was delicious, but I can`t say we were so much impressed. I used more garlic, tomatoes and parsley than the recipe calls for. I used it on bread.

This is a great soup. I made it twice, one time with chicken and it was wonderful too. I used 3 chilies and the spiceness was perfect for our tastes. Thanks for a great recipe.

Amazing Sun-Dried Tomato Cream Sauce

I chose this recipe to utilize sun-dried tomatoes I had. I would give 4,5 stars for this recipe. My mom loved this so much, for me this sauce was good, but I wasn`t impressed, me dad liked this. As suggested, I used garlic (2 cloves) and I added dried basil and oregano as well that give an extra flavor. I used the sauce over tortellini.

Zucchini Risotto

Actually I give 4,5 stars. The recipe is good, but I realized zucchini (maybe it was my zucchini?) doesn`t give much flavor, otherwise sun-dried tomatoes, thyme and basil make a delicate and good combination. I used mozzarella and I think it doesn`t give much flavor too, just thickening. So maybe parmesan would work better. In whole, this is a good idea, but with modifications from me.

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

We liked this recipe. The meat was full of flavor, good, piquant and delicious. A little salty, though. I used a little less soy sauce that the recipe calls for, so next time will use just 1/3 cup. Freezes well too.

Glazed Apple Cream Pie

This pie is amazing. I used half brown sugar and 3 apples and I used a single pie crust and put the glaze over the apples. The creamy filling is so tasty and elegant. The pie is unusual and delicious. I will use this recipe again and again.

Alfajores Argentinean Style

These cookies were amazing. I used 1 egg and 2 yolks, white rum and I needed just 1/2 can dulce de leche for my cookies. The taste was fantastic, they look festive too (I sprinkled with confectioners` sugar) and I will use this recipe again and again.

Cranberry Orange Tea Ring

This was very good, we really loved. I didn`t have orange marmelade, so used orange juice instead, and I found I had to add sugar. Don`t roll the rectangle very thin, the filling may be a little runny the first minutes in the oven. The filling was amazing, I used only 1 1/3 cups cranberries, so used apple too. The dough was very soft and tasty. The presentasion is great too.

Chicken Biryani

This was my first chicken biryani. The taste was delicious, if you make this recipe without rice, you will get a great chicken dish. My only complaint was that the oven makes the dish, especially rice a little dry, and we didn't like this step so much. When you make the chicken, you have plenty of liquid, but after oven all the liquid was evaporated and, in my opinion, oven a little "kills" the flavor. So the next time to make this biryani I will make this recipe without putting in the oven or will put in the oven just for 15-20 min.

Mocha Cigars with Coffee Cream

I have a trouble to rate this recipe, because this is a recipe with a different reaction in my family. This recipe was a completely new thing for me to make, so I want to write some tips. The recipe is not so difficult as seems. When you make the dough it will have a creamy consistency. Don`t be afraid, it must be creamy. It will become thick after refrigerating (I refrigerated for 3 hours). I made stencils (rounds) on a parchment paper with a pencil using a plate (10 centimeter). Then turn your parchment paper upside down, otherwise the trace of the pencil can be on your baked cigar. Be sure to make a thin layer, your cigars will look more beautiful and you will be able to put more filling inside. I baked the dough for 5 min and I think to rotate the baking sheet is useless. I rolled the dough without any problem, tearing or sticking. I tried to use a wooden spoon, but my cigar sticked to the spoon, so I rolled just using my fingers. Believe me, it is easy to roll. The filling was very tasty, I use only 2 cups whipped cream. But we didn`t like the dough so much. I expected the cigars will be dry like waffles for ice cream, but the dough was soft, similar to roulade dough. And I had a trouble to fill the cigar with the cream completely. I didn`t use grated chocolate to dip the ends. Overall, the recipe is unusual, but, in my opinion, doesn`t deserve a time and ingrediends wasted on it.

Eggnog from Scratch

I used this recipe because I needed to utilize 6 egg yolks from a dessert I made. It was my first eggnog, I have made coquito before (and realized I love it more), but this recipe is different from coquito. The texture was creamy and milky. I used less sugar and less rum (white rum), but I think spirit gives an extra kick and makes the eggnog tastier. In my opinion, this eggnog needs more spices, so I added cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg in the bottle. Overall, this is a delicious eggnog and easy to make too.

Favorite Chocolate Cookies

Sorry to say, but we didn`t like these cookies. They tasted like baking cocoa and neither chips nor raisin (I used instead of nuts) saved the flavor. We didn`t like like the main chocolate flavor. I don`t know maybe with this recipe I realized I am not a chocolate cookie lover, because I baked chocolate cookies before and we weren`t satisfied with the result too. Maybe just a personal preference, but these cookies were just nothing especial for us.

Homemade Manti (Traditional Turkish Dumplings)

This recipe is very close to the recipe that my family makes for years just without these sauces. I think 2 eggs is too much, so I use 1 egg and more water instead. The dough comes out great. I used beef and added a little cream to the filling. Then I froze the dumplings for at least an hour. We always do it, I don`t know does it make the difference, but I think it prevents from tearing when you boil the dumplings. The yogurt sauce is great for the dumplings, although we didn`t like the pepper oil (not hot and a little oily). Overall this is a great recipe.

Bacalao a la Vizcaina (Basque Style Codfish Stew)

This dish was spectacular. I can`t believe salted cod can be so good. I didn`t have capers, so used more green olives and used rose wine instead. And I roasted peppers in my oven. Very good.
