Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2011
I followed the suggestion of others to reduce the sugar, to just 1 cup and we all loved it!! I wish I would have taken a pic, We have one of those 3 gallon dispensers, that you put ice in a separate core so it doesn't dilute the punch, and another piece that I put frozen strawberries in to give it extra boost of flavor. So I didn't have to freeze any of it. I just put half of the mixture in with a bottle of diet 7 up, and left the rest in the fridge until I needed it. I used diet 7up because, i thought regular 7up would be so much more sugar and too sweet. My friends agree. It worked GREAT since we had a quick 2 hour party and we didn't have to wait for it to thaw in a punch bowl. There were about 30 of us, and everyone went back for seconds & thirds. All wanted to know how to make it and said I should be sure to write a review and say they all loved it and agree it is a 5 star punch!

Meatloaf with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
Just love this. I use this for making meatballs. The one thing I found was, when using the hot wheat cereal, it made the meatballs more moist. I also tried it with bread crumbs and another time with crutons. Although they were good, the ones with the Wheat cereal, was even better.

Sweet-and-Sour Meatballs

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2008
I made a TRIPLE batch of this yummy dish. Some items were simply tripled. But, I reduced the vinager instead of putting 1 1/2 cups, I just put 1 cup in it. Then I increased the chicken broth to not 3 but 4 cups. I also increased the pinapple juice to not 1 1/2 cups but 2 cups. and the last adjustment I made was I had 3 large green peppers and one large red pepper. it was fantastic. I was serving 20 people, and some are very picky about sweet & sour, not liking the strong vinager taste. This pleased them all and even the most picky had second helpings. OPPS, I forgot to mention, I didn't use this recipe for the meatballs, instead I used a meatloaf recipe, it has italian sausage, and that also uses dry hot wheat cereal and not bread crumbs. the wheat cereal soaks in much more moisture, making the meatballs far yummier. one thing for sure, after trying many different meatloaf meatball recipes, i'm only making them with the wheat cereal from now on.

Throw Together Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: May 30, 2008
I did put a layer of corn chips and cheese on top, and that was good, but, next time I will put a layer on the bottom too. The first day, our family thought it was a 3 star a bit too moist, some in the family wanted more corn, some wanted more chips, some wanted more beans, we were all not impressed, but the second day it was a 5 star, the moisture was gone, we put more chips with it, we didn't add more beans or corn, but it didn't matter it was so much better!

Moore's Cranberry Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
I don't know what I was thinking, I agreed to make a jello dish for an anniversary luncheon. Nobody eats jello, and I knew I would be stuck with lots of left overs. When I saw the reviews for this dish, I was willing to take a chance. I did use dried cranberries, that I chopped up. I also chopped up pecans and threw those in. I also cut the grapes smaller, since I knew there would be babies eating it. I think the real key is, it needs to be in the fridge 24 hours. when I blended the ingredients, it didn't look good at all. I tasted it, and was not pleased. Then after sitting 24 hours in the fridge, it was totally different in appearance & flavor. Out of the hundreds of events I have been too, there is always left over jello. Until now, not only did I come home with a clean bowl, I had many people asking for the recipe. Thanks for all the reviews for their helpful suggestions!
