About this Cook
I'm 18 years old and recently graduated from Beaverton High School, located in little Hicksville, USA (Beaverton, Michigan). I am currently enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, I leave for bootcamp July 20th and then off to wherever I'm stationed to serve my country. I really discovered my passion for cooking when I entered high school. I plan on attending a culinary school after graduation, I'm really hoping to get accepted into the Culinary Institute of America, but there are some smaller schools I have been looking at as well. Outside of cooking and school I really enjoy the outdoors and sports. I live a very active lifestyle consisting of hunting, fishing, going to the gym, and training for boxing and mma.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking all types of food. I am still a begginer though, I have 1 year of restaurant cooking experience, as well as a few years of experience cooking at home. I love many types of cuisine but my favorite are by far Asian and Italian.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We aren't a family rich in cooking traditions. I am actually the first one in the family to really begin cooking. Sure there were always the usual holidays such as Thanksgiving, and Christmas, but there really are no cooking traditions with the family.
My cooking triumphs
Becoming head dinner cook at my previous job. For just starting out and being as young as I am compared to the other cooks who were available for the job it was a major thing for me to have gotten the job over them all. The first weekend of March me and a team of 3 other students from my culinary course participated at the Michigan Pro-Start Invational where we placed 13th out of 20 schools in the culinary competition. I will be returning next year and defanitley placing top 10! Hopefully I will have a few more triumps to add to my listing. I RECENTLY WAS ACCEPTED TO SCHOOLCRAFT COLLEGE FOR THEIR CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM!!!
My cooking tragedies
No tragedies to list really. A few minor burns and scrapes here and there but nothing major to list yet. I'm sure there will be some in the future.

Super Scrambled Eggs Number One
Wonderful recipe! My only suggestion would be to cook the bacon less during the first step because it will continue to cook with the eggs the second time around. Also I like my bacon to be a little softer so that is another reason I cooked it less the first time. 5 *'s, defanitley will make again.

Kung Pao Chicken
DELICIOUS! I made this recipe for a school project for my friends, they are doing a report on the history of Asian Cuisine and I needed a quick and simple dish to whip up. I followed the recipe exactly, but I doubled all the portions because it was for a bigger group. Everything turned out excellent! I didn't change a thing but at the end I added some Low Mein pasta that I had prepared earlier, and served it with some stir friend green, red, and yellow peppers, mushrooms, and onions. EXCELLENT RECIPE! I will defanitley make anytime I have a craving for some chinese.

Alfredo Sauce
Very good recipe. Excellent taste, nice consistency, overall an excellent sauce. About my only two recommendations would be to add a 2nd clove of garlic and sautee them to really release the flavors before adding them to the sauce. 2nd would be to maybe add a slight amount of cream cheese to the mixture, about 2-3 tablespoons just to give it a little more smoother, velvety appearence. GREAT JOB =)
